A/N: Not much, but I felt in the mood to make some brief, slice-of-life stories, mainly to blow of steam and embellish the Matei universe, since I will be returning to it shortly with Mao Soma. I advise anyone who has not read Matei Mizuki to read it before these stories, since there are some spoilers in this. Anyways... enjoy.

"I hate you, Mizuki Rajoshin."

"Get over it."

"No, I really do. And I want you dead."

"Again, get over it, Asuka."

Midday, exactly twenty-four hours after the girls had finally gotten back their Remedial Calculus finals grades. Hate and frustration were again the only emotions the two women felt for each other as they sat together taking care of the shrine gift shop... all possible visitors too scared to come close.

"You still got a higher grade over all."

"But it's not fair! Just because you all but break your back ONCE and get a perfect on your final!"

"And I got a 90 for that class. You walked away with a 97."

It was an unorthodox reward that Professor Saotome offered any and all students in his classes: no matter what grades they had going in, if they got a perfect score on the 250-question exam, they could ask their grade to be set at an absolute A-.

Only two people that year had accomplished it that year. One of them had been Mizuki Rajoshin, blatantly struggling to keep her grade afloat, who had spent the entirety of the week preceding to study.

“You get one lucky break, and all of a sudden, your GPA shoots up. It’s disgusting.”

“Asuka, it comes easy for you, and hard for me. I read those books cover to cover and forced myself to memorize everything, simply because otherwise I’d crash and burn. You had a good grasp of everything, and did fine.”

“I still studied all throughout the semester, and this amounts to a slap to the face from you. And I’m entitled to feel bitter about it.”

“Then feel bitter at the right person.”

“What?”

Mizuki smiled. “You should have seen her face… when she got her score back from Saotome for her Advanced Geometry and Calculus class… another perfect to go along with every other math grade she’s ever had.”

Asuka’s mouth dropped open. “N-no… it can’t be. It just can’t. NOT HER!”

“What? Simple things come easy to her, regardless of their difficulty. You’ve known her longer than I have, don’t be surprised.”

“BUT SHE’S HOROKI GODDAMN AYASATO!”

“Yeah. And she’s never studied. Akane told me.”

“You… you mean…”

Five minutes later, one miko was off to extract vengeance on the goofy math-whiz. The other sat back and relaxed, because she had some peace and quiet.

Lying was so fun.
