Chapter 1:
I walk up the front steps to my front door humming a song. I heard a friend at school humming it. It's seems like it would be a good song. I'm glad it's finally the Holiday break, maybe I can figure out what that song is. I stop my humming with my hand on the doorknob. I look back at the drive-way. I glanced at it walking to the front door. But I didn't notice what was there. There's another car in the drive-way. A none crappy car. I stare at the shiny car going though all the people me and my brother know. I'm drawing a blank. Who would have a shiny fancy car like that? And what are they doing here? That's looks like an very expensive car. I shake the thought from my head opening the front door. I drop my bag by the front door. I almost called out that I was home but stopped when I heard talking.
"I'll help any way I can."
I close the door quietly, listening. What's this conversation about? I peek my head around the corner looking into the living room. The first thing I notice is the back of a guy's head. Well, that doesn't help. The second thing I notice is my brother spotted me. I step around the corner hastily walking into the room. I glance over my shoulder behind me a second, I almost tripped over air, note to self don't move so fast around corners. I look back in front of me and notice both my brother and that dude are staring at me oddly.
"Hi." I say quickly looking at my brother then the other guy. "Are you the one that owns that fancy car outside?"
He chuckles before replying "Yes."
I glance away quickly. My brain must need surgery, that was a idiotic question.
"Sophie, were you ease dropping?"
I cast my brother a side glance before muttering "No, I just got home."
"Well, I'll let you two discuss your current...uh dilemma." the guy says standing up.
My brother nods his head in reply looking at him "You can help yourself to a drink from the fridge."
I watch the guy walk into the kitchen, saying 'thanks' over his shoulder. I look over at my brother oddly.
"Zach, who's that guy and what did he mean by dilemma?"
