Dedicated to Alexandria Salinas
Rest in peace

Someone is going to die
Were the last words you would ever hear
As he held up the gun and aimed it at you
And you held the phone to your ear
It seemed like it was only yesterday
You were not dead but alive
Living so young and living so free
Simply living to strive
We all gather ‘round in the auditorium
And listen to the Principal speak
Of this misfortunate crime that had happened
It was the tragedy of the week
Then the room of teens grows deathly quiet
And you can practically feel the fear
And in their eyes I can see the mourning
Because you are gone, no longer here
Someone is going to die
Were the last words you would ever hear
As he held up the gun and aimed it at you
And you held the phone to your ear
When they said that life wasn’t fair
I didn’t think this is what they meant
But we all knew without having to ask
That you lived a life well spent
It seems it’s always the young and always the good
Who end up getting harmed
The news of your death, the news of this crime
Made each and every one of us alarmed
He wanted the phone, and you said no
He went off with a warning
He came back with a gun and fired a shot
And now we are left here mourning
You did nothing to deserve this
Just another innocent victim
It was a crime accidentally committed
A crime committed by him
Someone is going to die
Sadly, that someone was you
News got around, and the students were told
I wish this news wasn’t true

A/N – I know I’m the worst poet every to come into existence, but I really felt I needed to write this. So I tried my best to make this as decent as possible for the girl. I knew the girl, and she was a friend of my brother’s. She was only a freshman when she was killed. This tragic event has affected my entire school, and even me. My brother is incredibly angry that this happened, and I am depressed. So I wrote this and dedicated it to her. May that sweet, beautiful girl rest in peace.
