I turned the envelope over, and opened it. I pulled out the letter, and began to read it.

Dearest Aaron,

I know that I should have told you this before, but I was scared. I suppose this note...is a way of showing my coward’s side. I'm scared of dying, Aaron. I truly am, but if you're reading this...then I am, and there are a few things you need to know.

I love you. I have for quite some time now. When I lost you...it killed me, killed my soul. And, I vowed to myself that I would make it up to you. Prove to you how much I cared. I vowed to protect you. And, I did my job. I did what I promised myself.

Remember our first time together? When you and Vanessa were together? Well...I got pregnant. Yes...pregnant. You have a son and a daughter: Aaron Charles Jr. and Elizabeth Lynn. They're twins, of course, like you and your sister. They'll be three on July 8th. I named Junior after you because he looks like you, and because we'd joke about that. Elizabeth seems to look like me, but she has your smile. I hope you like the names. Remember, we'd joke about that every now and then...before...everything happened. They live with my aunt and uncle. You've met them, Aunt Krystal and Uncle Clarence. Tell the kids that I love them, won’t you? And let them know Mommy is always with them.

And, lastly...I wanted you to know. I'll always be with you. I'm in your heart...I hope. I'll be watching over you. Please take care of yourself. I know that some of this may be a lot on you, but I believe in you. I always have. Aaron, you have what it takes to make it big in this world. You have everything that'll make all your dreams come true. Just keep believing and don't give up.
