False Happiness & A Make Believe Smile

You think that I’m so happy but there’s so much you don’t know.

I’ve become a master at hiding my feelings I never let them show.

False happiness is what I call it and don’t laugh like it’s a joke.

You don’t know what it’s like to hold back tears so long you choke.

No one will ever know my secret it’s mine to carry all alone.

But please don’t be distraught I do fine on my own.

I’m not trying to deceive you or keep you in the dark.

I’m trying to leave you untainted, let my shadows leave no mark.

So take care the questions you ask.

And please don’t peek behind my mask.

If you do, everything we have won’t last.

Please don’t worry; for me all the pain’s in the past.

Just let me wear my make believe smile.

Trust me in the end it’s all worth while.

Simply nod your head and let sleeping dogs lie.

I promise if you pretend with me you’ll never see me cry…

A/N: I can’t remember the why or who to this poem but it’s great isn’t it? R/R and lemme know what ya think! Laters!!
