Your eyes rival the sea.

In its beauty and its secrets.

You think that you can mask what you feel and no one will know the difference.

But unlike everyone else I can see it all in your eyes.

Most only want to see the dark and icy surface and quickly walk away.

I looked beyond and found so much more.

The warmth just under the thin sheet of ice.

The tiny flicker of light shining so bright in the inky darkness.

The slight shimmer of joy that hides until it has a chance to break free and fill your eyes with laughter,

Even when you refuse to smile.

And most of all the pain that lies so deeply tearing you apart with no mercy.

What fools they are to think you a monster!

I can see the truth in the light emerald of your eyes.

The beautiful wonder of your eyes,

That at once captured and bound my heart and soul to you,

For all eternity.
