The back-up light

For when the room’s bulbs burn out

And the sunlight hides beneath nightlight

O’ beautiful lamp

Comfort, strength

Proof of another way

To capture brilliance,

Essence

Of the lamp,

A child of light,

A knower of the darkness

But a bearer of the light.
