This is a collection of one-shots meant to sort of hype up the novel that I swear I’m going to finish here soon. The novel is a zombie story, although it’s more about the people caught in that situation and how they react to it instead of the zombies themselves. The zombies are just the backdrop. It’s going to be a story about human nature and how people react when the structure of their lives is taken away from them.

In the mean time, I had the idea to write a few quickies about how the zombie outbreak might have begun. Each story will focus on different characters that will in all likelihood not be revisited (although I may change my mind on that). These stories will each show the arrival of the zombie threat in a different context. While all the stories will fit into the continuity of the novel, it won’t be clear in what order these stories take place, just that they all take place a day or so prior to the novel starting. Therefore, the order that I publish the stories in is not necessarily the order in which they occur. They’re just little windows into the lives of ordinary people on the frontline of the end of their world as they know it. Each window only affords a small viewing angle, and once you’ve seen everything you can see, it’ll be time to move on.

I hope to get a new story up for this series every couple of weeks, so check back. I’m planning on having about five or six, total, depending on how many good ideas I get. Each story will be named after a phobia appropriate to the setting or characters in the story. Use google is you want.
