...

Well here's another idea I have had floating around in my head ... its based off a dream I had ... and I liked it enough to turn it into a story.

I find the title harsh but thats the only title I could come up with (it will probably change many times XD)

Oh and sorry for my grammar and spelling errors, I need an editor.

Well I think that's it... enjoy!!

Alone in the darkness

Ch 1

A wave of frustration wracks his mind as he steps out of his pail green 79 ford bronco and into the darkened streets. The lush old woods seem thick, sounds of night echoing through the placid forest into the encumbering darkness.

The semi secluded 2 lane street the young man had been traveling could be considered a freeway even if it leads to a place more or less in the middle of know where. The visitation of an old girlfriend who had come to town after a year of disappearance fuelled his mind. All he wanted to do was see her and now this, secluded alone on an empty street the gas gage below empty.

A lonely lamp post flickers slightly about a quarter mile up the road. Shadows of strangely colored moths and other night bugs witch are for some reason attracted to the light send gloomy shadows along the street as they stupidly through themselves at the glow. The young man still frustrated at him self for not thinking about his low fuel tank makes his way to the lamp till he is fully lit by its dull illumination.

Several minutes passed, a light wore echoes through the night, a car is coming from which directing he is unsure but any direction would be just fine, as long as it led to a gas station. Bluish white headlights beam around the corner. Driving over the speed limit its tires screech on the little used pavement as it swerves around the corner. Excited the man begins walking to the middle of the street almost into the way of the oncoming car to exaggerate his need for a ride. The bright blue headlights flicker oddly. In hesitation he steps out of the speeding car’s lane. Hearing the loud rev of the engine as the driver pressed down the gas he subconsciously convinces himself the car will not stop. The blue lights grow bigger and brighter within seconds his vision is engulfed by the light. Passing him with such speed it seemed the car was not visible just a bluer of that light fallowed by waves of heated air and the stream of red as he watched the speeding tail lights pass into the abyss.

Everything is still once again. He can hear his heart beat in his chest. "Damn!" He yells suddenly. Turning back to find his previous position at the lamp post his heart pulsates heavier within his chest. The lamp’s dim yellow light has disappeared in fact the entire lamp post seemed to have vanished, silky hues of the moon now light his way. Looking around frantically he searches for his car. “Shit, did I seriously walk that far down the street. I didn’t think-“He begins mumbling but stops after further observing his surroundings. All that is truly different about the area are the thin humid smells of summer and lilac flowers and the road; in place of the 2 lane freeway strange ankle length grass like plants with small white heart shaped flowers grow heavily leading its own curious path through the dark forest.

“What the - where am I?” The young man mutters to himself as his mind begins to panic standing in an unbelievable world much like his but at the same time completely different.

The sounds of the night are back to normal except for the random growls which seem to be created by creatures unknown to his imagination. He stands in his fixed position on the empty path; his body immobile to him. His mind paralyzed by the allusion he had some how stepped into. A cool wind waves its way down through the trees. With it's passing each dew moistened stem dances creating a shimmering light as it catches the dull silver of the moon. Dancing like a crystal ocean wave as it falls upon a white sand beach. The boy’s completely terrified mind drifts with the placid sounds and majestic atmosphere in a daze.

Familiar sounds of a dog’s bark echoes through the lush woods, breaking the young man from his frozen stance. He slowly takes a step down the path. Realizing just how cold he is, his body shivers and he breathes into his hands in an attempt to warm them. Some how that familiar sound gave him the slightest hope that he had unknowingly strayed form the street and into the woods.

He can hear the barks growing louder till the animal is in plain view lightly jogging at him from the opposite direction he had originally been traveling. The dog’s long crystal blue fur glistens in the purely moon light. A strange reminder of the car and its blue hued head lights. The dog has a sleek shape, resembling the look of a well bread greyhound.

Stopping in his tracks the dog barks at him, its silver fangs catching the light of the moon for a split second sending the tingle of adrenaline through the young mans body. The dog stared at him almost questionably, like asking "why are you here?" As if some how he knew the young man did not belong. The sound of footsteps fallows the dog and a boy about the same age as him steps into view. He looks at him sleepily.

"Yo" he shouts out and walks closer to the young man. "The names Ryuu, what brings you to a place like this so early, and what’s with the cloths. Let me guess it’s the new style in the capital. That dam Ruler is so obsessed with how his citizens look don't you think." He continues as his expression suddenly grew alive, voice jovial and energetic. The opposite of what one would think by his darkened looks.

"Umm sure." he studders mind still tied in a knot from the recent events.

"You lost or something? Ryuu asks cautiously

“Where am I?” The young man asks stupidly.

“Right now we’re on my old mans land." Ryuu speaks "Ahh Up the road there is the capital city." He answers taking a few steps closer to the young man looking down at the strange grass waving to the winds command.

“Do you know what a car is?”

“Nope.” Ryuu speaks with a laugh. “You sure are strange. Do you have a name?” He adds with another laugh.

"It’s David."

"David? Wow you really are a freak.” Ryuu shouts jokingly.

“Whatever?” David mumbles turning around he takes a few wobbly steps towards the capital.

"Come on man, I was kinda joking.” Ryuu takes a deep sigh “Come on Ill explain everything at my pace over some hot tea or whatever you wanna drink.” He finishes “you don't talk much do you?" he adds and looks at David strangely. David stopped and looked back at the black haired man and his strange looking dog.

“What are you saying?”

“I’m saying you’re not crazy.” He sighs again placing his hand over the right side of his face. “Roka you wanna explain it?” Ryuu adds and sliding his hand down peering at the dog from behind his parted pointer and middle finger.

"We Know your not from this reality." The dog speaks and moves slowly towards the two sitting next to Ryuu he stairs up at David; the young man with thick white hair and the devils crimson eyes. David’s expression whitens as his mind begins to once again panic.

"You-y- just-“

"Yes, I can speak. I'm half human and half dog, the moon is out so I prefer to take this form." Roka the dog speaks.

"Half human half dog, does that make you a werewolf?" David asks sarcastically regaining his composer.

"Sure." Roka barks

“Lets get outa here.” Ryuu speaks and begins walking in the direction he had originally come from, Roka nods and fallows. Assuming this was the right course of action; David reluctantly fallows, walking casually through the tallish grasses.
