A/N: Hallo, mah peeps. I would like to apologize for my lack of updating-ness. xD I’m really sorry! I’ve just been so preoccupied with other crap invading my life, and I forgot all about this site. xD
Butbutbut…I remembered it suddenly when this awesome story idea popped into my head like, what, 2 months ago? xD I never had the chance to type it up (I kept forgetting), but now I’m here! So HUZZAH! REJOICE!
….okay you guys are probably getting tired of my rants, so it’s time to start the chapter! WOO!
I hope you like this new story of mine! AAND…ACTION!
&SCENEBREAK&
“Mom, seriously, I’m going to be fine,” Samantha said as she began unloading her multiple suitcases from the back of her mother’s car. “It’s not like this is my first year here, you’re forgetting that I’m a sophomore.”
The older woman wiped a tear from her cheek and helped her daughter lift a particularly heavy bag. “I know, sweetie, it’s just that I worry about you so much when you’re away. Just promise me you’ll call every now and then, okay?”
Samantha rolled her eyes. “Yes, Mom. You don’t need to worry, okay? It’s just boarding school. No big deal. And besides, Trenton and Taylor are here. You’d know if anything bad happened to me.”
“I know, I know. But still.”
“Well, bye Mom. I’ll miss you.” Samantha gave her mother a big hug. She could feel the tears forming in her eyes, and embarrassedly tried to wipe them away before anyone could see.
“I’ll miss you, too, Sam! See you at Christmas!” Her Mom got back into her car and Samantha watched her drive off. Taking a deep breath, she trudged through the campus and towards the girl’s dorm building, dragging her suitcases behind her.
&SCENEBREAK&
“Samantha Mackenzie Whitaker!”
Sam had made her way to the familiar dorm room, only to be greeted by her roommate in a surprise attack.
“Taylor! Get off of me!” she screeched, trying to pry the small blonde girl off of her. Laughing, Taylor let go of her friend and broke out in a huge smile.
“But I missed you!” she said cheerfully, dragging Samantha into the room and dumping all of her stuff onto the empty bed. Samantha laughed and took in the nostalgic sight of their room.
“I missed you too, but did you have to attack me?” The smaller girl frowned.
“Well, it wasn’t really an attack, per se…”
Samantha rolled her eyes and Taylor responded with another giggle. They had a lot of catching up to do. Said catching up was interrupted by a very loud and frantic series of knocks only a few moments later.
“TAYLOR! TAYLOR! IS SAM HERE YET? OPEN UP!”
Samantha grinned the hugest smile ever after hearing the oh-so-familiar voice of her best friend in the whole entire universe, Trenton. Taylor ran to the door and flung it open, and a very excited looking boy got a little too excited and somehow managed to end up on the ground. Laughing, Sam made her way over to him.
“Hey, Trent! Long time no see!” (This statement was technically false, since they had just hung out over the summer a little over two weeks previously.)
Trenton lifted his face from the carpeted floor, blew his bushy blonde hair out of his face, and smiled huger than ever. “SAMMIE!”
His surprise attack was even worse than Taylor’s.
&SCENEBREAK&
It was approximately 5:00 in the morning when Sam was awakened by the sound of Taylor’s voice.
“Sammie! Sam! Samantha!” Taylor was shaking her roommate vigorously in the attempt of getting her to wake up.
“Erruhh…” Sam grunted, trying to shoo Taylor away. “What is it? What do you want?” she said groggily, her eyes still closed.
“It’s time to wake up! It’s the first day of school! Wakey-wakey, sleepy head!”
“What? But…no! It’s only five o’clock!” Sam protested as she stared at her second-best-friend in disbelief.
“Exactly! And school starts at seven! So that only gives you two hours to get ready! Don’t you know how important the first day is?” Taylor practically yanked Sam out of the bed, completely ignoring her protests.
“I don’t need two hours to get ready! No, Taylor! Noooo! Let me go back to sleep! Please!” she whined, trying to wriggle out of Taylor’s firm grasp. Her attempts were a failure, though, and she was dragged into the bathroom. Taylor slipped out and shut the door, blocking the way out with a chair and some books.
“Now get ready! I’ll pick out your clothes!” she yelled.
Samantha sighed and decided that it was pointless to try and stop Taylor. She splashed herself in the face with cold water from the sink to wake herself up, then climbed into the shower.
After showering and getting dressed in the cute yellow and white ensemble Taylor had chosen for her, Samantha was ready to go. She grabbed her black backpack and head for the door, but was stopped, again, by Taylor.
“What is it this time?” she asked, a little annoyed. Taylor sensed the annoyance in her voice but only laughed.
“You’re not going with your hair like that, are you?” Sam sighed and went to check her hair in a mirror. And actually, Taylor was right. It didn’t look too great. She took her hairbrush and began to run it through her tangled, long black hair.
When she was finally looking decent (or as Taylor said, “adorable!”), the two made their way to the main building for classes. On their way to first period, they had figured out that they shared four out of six classes together: biology, PE, history, and English. Unfortunately, none of those were the first class of the day, and so they parted their ways. Sam went to her art class, while Taylor skipped down the hall to her French class.
As she entered the classroom and said hi to the teacher (she had taken a different art class the previous year), Samantha spotted the seating chart up on the board. She quickly located her seat and sat patiently, looking around to see if there was anyone she knew. She was busy scoping the room when somebody sat down beside her.
“Hi,” he said.
A little startled, she turned around and looked at the boy who had spoken to her. And when she did, it was like she couldn’t turn away. He was gorgeous, for God’s sake!
“Uh-um, hey,” she stuttered, still a little dazed from his gorgeousness.
The cute new guy laughed a little bit at her obvious embarrassment, and then spoke again. “I’m Logan Caspin,” he said.
“Samantha Whitaker,” she replied, trying to regain her composure. “Are you new?”
“Yeah,” Logan answered. “I just transferred here from Wisconsin. Are you?” he asked. She was a little caught off guard from his question.
“What? Oh, no, I came here last year,” she said, stumbling over her words a little bit. She internally slapped herself for being so socially retarded.
“Cool,” Logan said, smiling at her. And then the bell rang, and class started.
&SCENEBREAK&
First period had gone by pretty fast. Sam had talked to Logan mostly the whole time while working. Afterwards, he left the classroom with her, and they stopped by her locker.
“Is this where your locker is?” Logan asked.
“Yeah, where’s yours?” Samantha asked as she unlocked it and took out some books.
“I don’t have one yet. The school board is trying to find an open one for me. Maybe I’ll be close by,” he said.
“Yeah, that’d be cool,” she said, smiling. He smiled back at her, and was about to say something, but was interrupted.
“What’s crack-a-lackin’, Sammich?”
Sam squealed as she found herself in a headlock, receiving a noogie from the one and only Trenton.
“Trent!” she shouted, prying her best friend off. Logan stood watching as Sam attempted to fix her now messed-up hair. Trenton was laughing.
“What?” he asked, and then he spotted the guy that Sam was talking to. “Oh. Hi.” He sounded (and looked) a little surprised.
“Um, hi. Well, I’ve got to get to class…I’ll see you later, Samantha,” Logan said a little uneasily. He waved goodbye and walked away. As soon as he was out of sight and hearing distance, Sam turned on Trenton, glaring ferociously as she shoved him.
“Ouch, what was that for?!” he put his hands up in defense.
“You meanie! Couldn’t you see that I was talking to the cute new guy?” she said.
“Oh, cute new guy, is that his name? Thanks for introducing us, by the way.”
“Like you gave me any time! You surprise attacked me!”
“That’s what I’m known for,” he shrugged, and then continued. “Besides, I don’t see what the big deal is. Cute new guy-“
“Logan.”
“What?”
“His name is Logan,” she said.
“That sounds like a delinquent name,” Trenton said. And it didn’t look like he was kidding, either.
“Excuse me?” She crossed her arms and there was silence, until Trenton started to laugh. She couldn’t help but laugh, too. It was contagious!
“Okay, listen, Buddy. You’re forgiven for now, but next time you catch me talking to a cute new guy-“
“Logan, right?”
“What? Yeah, but I’m saying just cute new guys in general-“
“But how am I supposed to know if they are cute or not? Or if they’re new?” he asked, smirking slightly when he saw that he was SO going to win this argument.
“I – Trent, who cares? Just…ARGH! Let’s just go to class,” she said. Trenton continued to smirk as the two made their way to biology.
&SCENEBREAK&
The day flew by fast and soon it was already over. Samantha was sitting in her room along with Taylor and Trenton.
“Oh my god, Sam, did you see that hot new guy? I think his name was Logan,” Taylor said.
“Logan? Oh, yeah, he’s in my art class.”
Trenton groaned. “Ugh, not that guy again. Please,” he said. Taylor gave him a curious look that said ‘explain please!’ and he sighed. “Sam was talking to him and I noogie attacked her, and she got all mad at me because I interrupted her conversation with Delinquent Boy,” he stated.
“Wait, Sam, you were talking to him? I mean, he was talking to you?” she asked incredulously.
“Yeah, we’re friends. I think. I mean, I don’t really know, I just met him today, but you know,” she said. Taylor gasped and then squealed.
“Yay! Omigosh Sammie you are soooo lucky! He’s like the most gorgeous guy in the whole school!” Taylor gushed.
“Dude, can we please talk about something else?” Trenton rolled his eyes. Having two girls as your best friends was tough sometimes. Sam laughed and gave him a playful punch on the arm.
“Sure. Sorry Trent.”
“What? Sam! No! I wasn’t done rambling about him yet!” Taylor pouted. "You're supposed to take my side!"
“Sorry, Tay. But you have to think of what these conversations are like for Trenton. I’m sure they are huge ego-bruisers,” she said, laughing.
“Ego-bruisers? You think I’m jealous of that guy? Right,” Trenton scoffed, but the girls ignored him and began talking about how stupid it is for teachers to give homework on the first day. Trenton sighed yet again, but decided to join the conversation anyway. This was going to be a long year.

Well, who are your favorite characters so far? I think it’ll be interesting to see who everybody likes best. Is it Samantha, the shy but adorable main character? Taylor, the girly spaz? Trenton, the hyper jealous boy? Or Logan, the cute new delinquent guy? (xD)
I personally like Trenton, but that’s just me. :)
Thanks for reading guys, please review and let me know what you thought! I’ll love you forever!
