“Why” You Ask

You cry out in pain

And yet you still say my name.

You say I was

All that was left for you.

But you never truly showed

Just how much you cared.

Maybe you were too scared.

The whole truth comes out now:

I got tired of saying

The same prayer,

And so I started a new one;

Then it seemed to me

That the Lord really answered me.

You know how I am scared

Of taking risks.

But, finally, for once

My heart won’t resist

To take this one risk.
