Paradise

Some people believe that Paradise is an actual place, like Heaven or Hell. Others think it is merely a state of mind, and if you do not believe it exists, as some feel about Heaven and Hell, then you have no way of getting there. In truth, it is somewhere in between. You can only travel to Paradise if you are happy, in your own personal utopia. It is very real. It is a real place, with other real people, all traveling around, happy, because, of course, they are in Paradise. But if you don’t think you are there – even only for one moment -- you question Paradise, it vanishes, and you are left unhappy.

When you reach Paradise, the real you — the you on Earth — feels light-headed; you can’t think straight. While your mind is traveling along the soft green grass, or perhaps English cobblestones, or sandy white beaches, your body moves along and your brain does what you know you can do, even if you don’t realize it. You feel out of place, confused, yet happy with all your heart. It is a feeling that most get, perhaps when they have found love or given birth. It can’t be bought or sold. Whenever something makes you so happy that your heart tingles, or you brain giggles, or you dance – just because, then you know you are in Paradise.

Paradise is what you imagine it to be. When in Paradise, some who has grown up in the wind and rain might imagine it sunny, with pool parties and lemonade stands. A child may travel to Paradise, and find it a playpen, never-ending, with toys and balls and puzzle pieces. A mom-to-be might imagine Paradise filled with babies, and an already-mom might find it without children. But most people find it to be exactly like their lives at that moment, because that is their Paradise. That is where they are truly happy. And everyone knows that if you’re not truly happy, you can’t enter Paradise at all.
