drip, drab, drub

endless repetition
failing beyond recognition
to choose to lift and to release

there's no need for waves, oh darling
you're as clear as night to day
and just as welcome not to stay

drip, drab, drub

the heavenlies have little care
for those who fall beneath their stare
and plummet cold and broken

litter the earth with jagged pieces
close your eyes and find where peace is
let the dirt swallow and chew

drip, drab, drub

and maybe when you fade away
the essence of your nothingness may
give earth life for something new

and in that justify the drip of tears
the drab you have been for all these years
