I've walked and talked
like a stranger in the dark
And you've listened like a familiar face
But in the end
it ends
And we're human again.
Lonely and unhappy
Or with misery as company
(I hear it hates solitude.)

But I think I can do this
(I'm almost certain I can't do this)
I'll travel through the shadows
and down alleys
I'll have my share of broken backs and stolen hearts
I'll see the world
(But I'll never know what it feels like to be on top of it)
And I think I'll do it alone.

"I want to be alone," She said.
"But misery loves company," He said.
