We sprawled body against body, far too warm beneath an excess of blankets and our own pulsing human skin, but also far too complete to move. Somewhere in the extension of our own vibrations, a couple kissed. You snickered.
Embarrassed, one of them called out, “Oh, shut up, you’re just jealous.”
My heart moved and without thinking I exclaimed, “Are you kidding me? He could have any girl he wanted.”
“It’s true,” cried out someone else.
I felt him smile through the back of his head, though I could not see his face. Gently, he shifted his hips and rolled over to amend this – our noses touched.
Then everything else touched too and as he kissed me, I could’ve sworn he was saying:
“Yeah, but I want you.”
