Graceful butterflies

Prologue

Carol walked carefully into her room. The squeaky crying noise, destroyed the silence as she inspected her house. She had no idea what the voices were, or what they where wanting to do, but it was slightly scaring the fourteen year old deeply. The rooms were surrounded by darkness as she roughly spotted flies circulating around her and a snake circulating around her ankle, her legs shivered in fear as the snake was pushed away from her feet.

She wanted to scream and request for help, but she knew that nobody would believe her, it was too unrealistic for anybody to believe and she wouldn't be able to give a good explanation either. The snake hissed as it crawled close to her. She dropped her jaw as she scurried into her bed and hid herself under the covers rather quickly. She would have rang her friends to help, but she was out of credit and her friends were total gossip girls and bitches sometimes.

Carol was frightened of snakes and detested them with a sheer passion. She hated snakes because they reminded her of all the people who had insulted, abused, deceived and bullied her clearly. The snake was a symbol of hell for her and she wanted to forget all the bullies and evil people in the world.

Life seemed to be nothing but hell for Carol, she wanted the bullies to go away and die, she wanted her father to listen to her and she wished her sister, Kate was still alive today. The brunette couldn't remember the love of her mother, apparently, her mother died of breast cancer and she gave up her life to save Carol when she was a fetus. Carol had been bullied all her life and was constantly abused by her father on a regular basis. Carol blamed the alcohol and the drugs, for her father's downfall.

'Retarded fat bitch!' That was what her father called her, as well as many others who named her that as well. Her heart always sank when she heard horrible words from her father. He was only approachable when he was sober and he was defiantly not a morning person. She always saw pills and drugs scattered around his bedroom as she was getting the feeling that he was going to die rather soon.

If only Kate had still been alive, she would have sorted everything out. She would have protected her all the time. Everyday since Kate's death from the car accident, Carol had her hair, make-up done how she had it done and always copied Kate's dress sense. Carol knew she was mainly bullied for having a drunk dad who indulges himself on illegal drugs and for her looks. Kate always assured her that she was beautiful, whilst others told her she was a pure ugly fat cow.

Carol would always take Kate's side over anyone else's. Carol knew that she looked absolutely gorgeous and had a very slim figure. Those who bullied her were doing it out of spite and pure envy. However, this didn't make this any comforting, Carol knew she would have been able to have gotten through the pain, if she hadn't of lost Kate, she felt she would have been able to get through without carrying so much heavy sorrow on her life.

A large green light filled the darkness of her bedroom as Carol felt something strange happen to her back. She was suddenly levitated as she felt unable to control her body, the slithering snake was wrapped around her ankle as the snake crawled up to her body eventually reaching her neck the snake bit her harshly. Carol screamed at the agony as she felt like she was going to die. The blood was being absorbed and stolen from her body as she silently closed her eyes. She was quickly expecting death and judgment.

She felt all the pain, suddenly slip away as if the snake was consuming the pain as well as her blood. The light was slowly fading and her screaming had ceased. 'This could be the bitter end of my life.' She thought as Carol Patience felt the fresh air brush against her pale face. She opened her eyes and saw a different scenery, and a different world. She thought for a second that she must be dreaming, she had never seen grass and flowers on the field looking so pure. The blue sky has never been so bright for her as she had never felt such beautiful weather.

In front of Carol stood a woman. The woman had dark curly hair above her shoulders, she looked roughly between her late twenties and early thirties. Carol instantly knew she was Asian by looking into her small black beady eyes. Carol also loved her red dress, that did justice to her curves and cleavage. The brunette stood there petrified with no idea what to say to the young woman. The mysterious woman smiled as opened out her palm to Carol.

“Please to meet you Carol Patience,” The woman smiled as her cute voice caught Carol's attention. “I am Grace Butterfly, you look so much like Kate and you look beautiful Carol.”

“Thank you very much...” stuttered Carol as her shyness started to show. She placed her hand in Grace's inviting hand and returned her smile.
