The Leaf in the Wind
--
In mid-october when the weather cools down.
Trees become bare as the leaves hit the ground.
Flowers and bugs disappear as pumpkins sprout.
A zephyr picks up from an unknown route.
A solitary maple leaf blows in the wind,
Traveling down an unset avenue,
In no specific direction it follows to.
It moves along with the breeze,
Migrating farther away from the trees.
The leaf is nomadic and impotent to stop.
It keeps floating about unable to drop.
The leaf blows in the wind,
Too powerless to land on solid ground,
But when December eventually comes around,
The leaf will be able to finally standstill,
Covered in snow and ice and winter's chill.
Please review, I could always use the constructive criticizm and critiques. Also, did you get the symbolizism in the poem. Here's a hint: A Season rarely ever means just a period of year marked by the condition of weather. Also, the leaf represents something else. Tell me what you think the poem means in a review and I'll reply back if your right.
