Epilog
KRIS
“And now, meet the class of graduates of 2008!” Principle Malroy yelled, and all of us cheered. I jumped from my seat, throwing my hat in the air.
Then someone wrapped their arms around me, pulling me close to them. I turned, a smile already on my face. “Hey!” I said, hugging Brendan. “We did it!”
He laughed, kissing my quickly. “We did.” He agreed, his smile sending shivers down my spine.
After Jesss…attack… Brendan had to undergo a surgery on her shoulder, then months of physical therapy. He was still in it, though he was planning to stop soon.
Aimee and Jordan have now been together seven months, both of them not looking like they were planning on changing that anytime soon. Actually, they were going away together in the fall, both heading to the same college.
And me? Well, I was planning on staying right where I was. I didn’t want to leave, not when everything was finally coming back together. I was going to the local college, for the first two years of school, planning to get all of my core classes out of the way, and then I would leave.
Brendan was staying with me- actually, after Jess attacked us, my dad had insisted that Brendan move in. He had his own room, one right next to mine, though he tended not to stay there. He was staying here with me, at the same college as me, until I was ready to go.
My dad was still gone as much as he was before, but now he made an extra effort to know what was going on in my life. He actually just trusted Brendan to take care of me- I guess he had proved himself.
“Hey!” Aimee yelled, running up to me. She pulled me from Brendan’s grasp, wrapping her arms around me. “We did it! We graduated!” She yelled happily, jumping up and down.
I laughed, hugging her back. “We did.”
“Hey, where is my hug?” Jordan laughed, walking up behind us.
Aimee laughed, letting me go an literally jumping on top of Jordan, placing a kiss on his lips.
“Ew.” Brendan muttered, once again wrapping his arms around me.
I giggled, leaning back against his chest. “I think they say the same thing every time we kiss.”
“But it isn’t gross when we do it.” Brendan protested, placing a kiss on my lips.
“Ew.” I heard Jordan mutter. I broke away from Brendan, laughing. Brendan rolled his eyes at his friend.
“We going to the party tonight?” Aimee asked, referring to the party at some guys house. The party “everyone” was going to be at.
I winced. “If you want to, I guess.”
Aimee laughed, leaning in and hugging me again. “Oh, I don’t want to go. I was just making sure you didn’t.”
I laughed, relieved. “So, what are we doing tonight?” I asked, once again leaning back against Brendan.
“Well,” She looked a little anxious. “I was wondering….do you guys want to just go home? Just hang out? The four of us?”
“Maybe watch movies.” Jordan teased her.
I laughed, as did Brendan. This had become somewhat of a ritual for us, something we had all done together the first time.
I know that you’re probably wondering about Jess. She was locked up- hopefully for good. In a mental institution. Jordan had an apartment, his parents had moved so they could be closer to her. I think she was locked up somewhere in New York. I really didn’t ask to many questions about her. I didn’t really want to know.
For now, I was just happy with the knowledge that she wasn’t coming after me anytime soon.
“You okay?” Brendan asked me, squeezing me gently.
I gazed up at him, then smiled, pressing my lips against his. “Fine. Everything is fine.”
He smirked, “Love you.”
“You too.”
