“Normal?” My voice came out as a laugh. “N-normal, you think I’m normal?”
They all nodded.
Great my first time meeting my cousins and I come off as ordinary. Oh, by the way they’re vampires.
“Why wouldn’t you be?” asked the tallest one.
God, do they really expect me to fawn over them just because they look like heavenly creatures? I don’t think so.
I sniffed and stiffened my best impression of my mother. “Well, you haven’t seen anything yet.” I winked and five car alarms went off.
“What happened?” said a guy in a pizza costume handed out fliers to mothers that had screaming babies that were spooked by the sudden noise.
“Oh, probably a little trick in the alarms.” I responded casually. Of course he didn’t look at me at first, he was too busy gawking at the three attractive women behind me. I looked at the six of them square in the eyes for a few seconds then leaned in and whispered nonsense in his ear.
“Hi, I’m Tom.” He gave me full attention similar to the attention he was giving my new cousins. “Would you like to grab a, a, a…”
“Slice?” I finished for him flirtatiously. “Sure, just give me your number and I’ll call you.”
He bushed and I handed him a pen and my phone book.
“Thank you Tom.” And I smiled. “I’ll talk to you later.” And I winked my final finish. On queue he fainted.
I turned to the vampires, “Anyone know how a love spell works?”
Shock, amazement, and I’m pretty sure apology rush across their faces. I was positive I had some questions to fill.
This was going to be a fun year.
