A/N: This story covers the topic that may be sensitive to some people: angels coming to Earth. If you have any problems with this topic or feel uncomfortable, please don’t read. I have no wish to tangle myself in religious discussions; this is just a story I thought of and put on paper.

Chapter One

I’m still looking at David. You could stare into those grey eyes forever. Hmm…do you think he’ll share his crayons with me? I’ll have to ask very nicely, though. But it’ll be worth it when our hands touch as he passes me the red crayon. Just as I was about to reach over and tap David’s shoulder, the principal walked in.

Principal Snout is real funny-looking. Well, I’m not sure if that’s his real name, but I call him that ‘cause he’s got this big nose with holes so big you could see straight up ‘em. He’s always squinting, like he needs glasses or something, and his ears are so pointy that if you touched the tip, you’d cut your finger! And after all that, he’s got only a little hair left on his head. When he bends over, you can see a small circle of grey-ish hair in the middle of his head.

So anyways, Principal Snout came in with two kids behind him. My teacher, Mrs. Morgold, went over to talk to Principal Snout. They’re talking really low, so I can’t hear anything.

Growing bored, I turn to David, the love of my life, sitting next to me. He’s busy gluing his pieces of paper down, and hasn’t even seemed to notice Principal Snout and the kids! I suddenly remembered the two kids standing in the doorway. They both looked like they were my age. One’s a boy and one’s a girl and they’re the exact same height.

The girl’s got kind of curly brown hair, and it’s sticking out around her face. Some freckles make a path on both her cheeks and across her nose. Her eyes were colored a bright, dark blue. They’re the same color as my favorite crayon, Indigo Blue.

The boy standing next to her looked almost exactly the same, except his hair was cut short, and his eyes were more like the Blue-grey crayon.

The boy and the girl looked very calm, rocking on their feet and looking around the room. When they both met my eyes at the same time, I felt a shiver in my body. It wasn’t scary or anything; it was like when your hands are freezing cold, and then you touch a warm radiator. That kind of feeling that sort of made me relax.

Mrs. Morgold had finished talking with Principal Snout, who was now walking down the hallway to his office, I think. When Mrs. Morgold gently pushed the two kids to the front of the room, both of them didn’t look scared at all. Of course, they didn’t know what Mrs. Morgold would ask them. She would ask them to go to the front of the class and introduce themselves. It turns out she did that. And the kids still weren’t nervous! I was beginning to wonder if they were strange because all the other new kids either looked down at their shoes, or talked really fast or didn’t say anything at all.

“I’m Aiden,” said the boy.

“I’m Nadine,” said the girl.

“We’re angels,” they said at the same time.

“Oh yes, I’m sure you two are perfect, little angels,” Mrs. Morgold said very nicely. “You probably finish all your homework before the bell rings, right?” After Aiden and Nadine nodded together, Mrs. Morgold went on, “Why don’t you tell us where you come from?”

Aiden and Nadine looked at each other with big eyes.

Aiden said, “We thought everyone knew where angels were from.”

“We’re from Heaven, by the way,” Nadine added. Then the two of them smiled really big.

A/N: So what do you think? I really want to continue this, and I’ve already started on the second chapter, but I’d really love your input on this. Thank you for reading.
