A/N: Now for something that is a little more Prologue like.
I apologize for any grammatical errors.

Prologue

“So odd, that a whole town could become abandoned in two years.”

Overture City, once a quaint town of about 10,000, became desolate after the unexplainable events in which part of its large and bustling neighbor, Destani, was destroyed. The experts say it was the large storm that had hit, however, that storm never left and for two years did rain continuously poor upon it.

Very few of the houses could withstand it over time. Everything became flooded; all the farm fields were put to waste. Life itself became impossible, and over time its residents moved elsewhere or to the big city close by. Everyone had left, homes, stores, and some cars remained there, standing still as if time had stopped

“Stupid Vitenka, I swear you ruin everything.”

Amongst the rainy nights, the soft wind that always blew carried a forbidding ill to the residents of Overture. Always a sweet, childish voice could be heard, singing amongst the wind. Those paranoid enough to believe the work of the paranormal was at hand, were the first to depart.

“She’ll be, how would you say, dreaming for the next two years. I will watch over her in that time, and then erase her memory. You will go to Earth, and bring her back here.”

“Liaonia, I hope I didn’t fail you.”

Amongst the dead and wet streets of Overture, a single man wearing a dark trench coat, walked the silence streets. He wrapped the coat around himself, to keep warm and dry from the light falling rain. The sky, and the world around him was a soft and comforting gray down. The young man stood out from his dull surroundings.

His hair was a dark, and fiery head, his eyes the deepest and gorgeous of emerald green. He was fairly tall, and had a strong and muscular build. He walked straight, a sense of pride accompanied by great humility. Though the city around him would bring many down, he wandered it’s streets with a bright and confident smile.

He reached under his shirt, and pulled out the golden pendent Liaonia had given him. He stared at it, his eyes softened sadly, for unknown reasons. He massaged its rich exterior with his strong fingertips. He gazed upon it nostalgically.

The still wind picked up into a sweet breeze. He closed his eyes, hearing the childlike voice the wind carried. He walked towards the way it blew. Within a matter of moments, a small girl appeared out a nearby alleyway.

He stopped, turning towards her with a joyful smile, his eyes closing as he did so. She smiled back, and continued to walk towards him without fear. Her tiny body was wrapped in tan colored cloak. She lifted her tiny hands, pulling the hood around her head down. Her hair was long and dark colored, eyes bright and full of wonder. The girl’s eyes were the same beautiful and deep green the red headed man shared, exactly identical.

He crouched down, a hand placed against the damp ground to hold his balance. He reached out his free hand towards her. She took it, as she laughed at him she titled her head to one side, showing her tiny ears both pierced with earrings. One golden ball in her ear, one floating in mid air, followed by a tiny star shape. He stared at them, the same melancholy and reflecting gaze he gave the pendant.

She frowned, wondering if she had done something wrong. The girl placed both of her dainty hands around his large one. She grinned at him; he did the same back to her.

“I’m Lucian, Lucian Archer, what is your name my dear?”

“I’m Nina!” she exclaimed excitedly, giggling. “You’re come to take me to a new home.”

“And just how do you know that?”

“A man with white hair told me. He said I would go home today.”

Lucian laughed, standing up. “I see. Are you ready?”

She nodded. “Yes, sir!”

“Alright then. We’ve got a long way to walk though, you ready for it? Or do you want me to carry you?”

“I can walk. I need to become big and strong!” she placed both of her hands on her hips, puffing her cheeks. Lucian continued to laughing, and began to walk, nodded his head in the direction he paced for her to follow.

Nina ran a few steps, catching up to grab his hand. Lucian looked back at her in shock, but he gave her hand a gentle and caring squeeze.

“Let’s go home Nina.”
