Once upon a time,

Once upon a time,

So very long ago,

Lived a little girl and

Little boy

That loved each other so.

--

One day the little boy went out

To find a story of his own

And left his little girl behind

To waste away her life alone.

--

The little girl began to cry,

Her eyes relinquished acid tears,

Her crystal heart began to crack,

The burning wounds bled midnight fears.

--

Her cherry lips were parched and dull,

Her legs were bound and chained with fright,

Her crimson blood ran ice-cold blue

Her loveless world had only night.

--

She stayed this way in frozen time,

A never-aging broken doll,

Her wings were clipped, she couldn’t fly

For she was too afraid to fall.

--

But Fate was never-ending too,

She watched the doll with caring eyes.

Until the day her Prince would come

And save her from her cage of lies.

--

And soon, one night,

The perfect Prince

Was lost inside a wicked dream.

To pass the time before she woke,

The Prince opened her mouth to sing.

--

Her voice was clear and filled with love,

Her words grew wings and flew away.

They found the prison of the doll,

And rid her world of Hate's decay.

--

The doll opened her blinded eyes,

She heard the song and danced to life.

Her flesh grew warm and soft to touch,

Her broken heart now free of strife.

--

The notes spilled out her unused lips

Shocked by the Prince's song of love

But the two girls' voices harmonized

As Fate smiled down from the stars above.

--
