A/N: first piece for creative writing the first line is one she gave us and we had to write something from that. let me know what you think and also I'm thinking of a title so if any come to mind let me know

The low river flows like smoked glass
reflecting distorted images of what is, what could be.
Ghost-like, the picture haunts our waking thoughts—
a burning obsession ‘neath a watery grave.

Illusive between ripples, the muted landscape wavers,
a dream upon which rests all hope, all fear,
threatening to dissipate forever, left wanting what was never ours.
