Yes, I'm aware I haven't written anything on here for a while, but I haven't really had the time. I'm actually not supposed to be doing this right now, but what the hell. I just randomly decided to start writing this because I thought of the title and realized I could make a great song out of it. At first it kind of rang strange in my ears, but I realized the meaning and depth behind the lyrics and it kind of wowed me. It is short, because now that I can play the bass, I want to do a record with some of my friends and this is an intro song for it.
Anyways, it's about being cold and dead inside, the Snowman is just a metaphor. It's about wanting to melt away and become something better. Hope you enjoy it. Also, keep an eye out for a follow up- A metal parody of Frosty The Snowman.
The Snowman's Lament
Will you see... My world just, ice and snow?
Do you understand... I'd die to let it go!
The sun it, kills me but there's nothing, I want more!
I've become... Just backdrop in the winter, wasteland!
I'm so numb! Frozen are these useless stick hands!
The light, so close I can almost taste it!
And it burns so good!
As February fades away again!
This thaw can warm my blood!
And save me from this cold damnation!
I want this death!
If it takes me from this fucking place!
I want to melt, evaporate!
And rain back down upon your pretty face...
Don't cry my darling!
Death is but a door!
There's no time for weeping...
These eyes of coal have become so sore!
But it burns, so good!
(Let me see spring and summer!)
So good!
(Even fall, back into each other!)
It burns so good!
Just like I knew it would!
Burn me!!
To save me!!
To save, yourself...
Just let me, melt.
