A/N: I’m sorry I haven’t updated this story in a while, but I’ve mostly been working on other stories, though, as you can see, I haven’t updated them that much either.

I will go ahead and say that I wasn’t planning on updating this story for a while, but I was messing around on my computer, and I saw all the reviews, and I got happy, oddly enough. So, if you want a lot of chapters of any of my stories, I guess I have to get a lot of good reviews. (Wink wink).

Also, I’ve got a poll going. At the moment, I’ve been pretty much working on one story at a time now. Right now, I’m trying to finish This Is My Story, and I’m not sure when I’m going to have it done. Anyway, the poll is to choose which story I work on next. Go vote if you want this story next, if you want. This may be the last chapter I’m coming out with for a little while, but don’t worry, I’m not going to stop working on it.

Jazz: Yes, it is weird, in you get to find out in this chapter what it was about!

Just a Lost Boy: It might be them two, and it might not :D. And yes, I do appreciate constructive criticism. Thanks!

hazza1508: Yeppies, a cliffy! And I’m sorry for not updating soon like you wanted.

Yayz! Thanks for the reviews!

I was heading outside when I heard a scream, and it came from not to far away, so I managed to get there fairly quickly. Even so, I didn’t expect to be the first person there, Tanasha following behind me

The scream had come from the library, and I went in search of the person who’d done it. I walked past rows upon rows of books, looking down each aisle.

More people where rushing into the room, and caught up to me quickly. Finally, in one little cove of the room, we found a tilted over bookcase. One of the teachers that had joined us managed to lift if up, and we found the poor girl that had been caught underneath.

I never found out her name. The Headmaster himself looked after her cause of death. All I ended up finding out was that it was a girl that was soon going to be kicked out of Drakonis, and was trying everything she could to do better in her classes. She’d apparently tried getting a book off the top shelf, by climbing up, and it fell over on top of her. Not to be rude, but she must have been bad at magic if she couldn’t do a simple levitation spell.

Her parents where there not to longer to get her, and was sad to see their devastated looks. Afterwards, the Headmaster gave a huge lecture to everyone at the school, and in the end cautioned us to be careful because, even though we could use magic, didn’t mean we couldn’t die easily.

I went back to my room after that, and laid down, noticing that the other guy’s bed had been cleaned off, and had been mostly thrown on the floor. On his side of course. Tanasha napped by my head, and I thought for a while.

People died all the time, but it hits really hard when you even just close by the person who’s gone. Feeling all that energy escape from the body makes me feel sick. Only natural deaths feel natural. And by natural, I mean old age.

“Hey, you okay?” I jumped, not noticing that my roommate had entered the room.

“Fine,” I answered tiredly, not wanting to deal with him right now. For a while he was quiet, and I heard his bed squeak, so he must have sat down. I wouldn’t know, because I was facing the wall.

“I wanted to apologize for earlier.” He said after a few moments, and I shrugged as well as I could laying down, not caring if he could see it.

“Whatever.”

“I mean it. I just wanted you to know that I’m not usually like that.” I turned around so I could face him. Even though, I still couldn’t see him clearly.

“Then why were you?”

“Aftereffects of a curse.” He said, and I lifted an eyebrow.

“How the hell did that happen?” I asked, just for the hell of it.

“Some of the guys were fucking around. Caught me with my back turned.” He sighed, and I smiled.

“Nice.”

“Wasn’t it? Anyway, it was some kind of ‘Mine’ curse, and when I saw you yesterday, it was almost completely wore off, which was why I didn’t actually force you off the bed or anything.” I remember that curse. Oh do I. It’s not dangerous, most of the time, you just think that everything is yours, and might even start stealing from other people. If what this guy said was true, then I couldn’t blame him for being an ass earlier.

“Again, nice.”

“I was also a little pissed cause I was supposed to have a room for myself.”

“Why’s that?” something else I couldn’t help but ask. Tanasha had woken up from her nap, and was listening intently as well, though you couldn’t really tell, since her eyes were opened only a crack, but her ears where facing the other man, making sure to get everything he said. Probably to make sure he was alright by her standards.

“You’ll see later, I guess.” Damn, now I’m curious. I hope he’s not some psycho creep or whatever, or will try to do something to me when I try to sleep, though if he does, Tanasha would probably wake me up, otherwise I’d probably sleep through the whole of it. I can’t help with being a heavy sleeper.

Speaking of sleeping, I was about to doze off anyway, but there was one thing I needed to know.

“What’s your name?”

“Matt.” he said after a moment, and then I fell asleep.

I was in a white room that had only a table in the middle. I looked around the room quickly, trying to find a way out, but there were no doors.

I called out for my familiar, but she was nowhere to be seen. I was all alone.

I looked up at the ceiling, noticing there weren’t any lights, but didn’t question how the room could be lit up so brightly.

All of a sudden, I felt an odd ripple through the air, and to one of the corners. There was something wrong, but I couldn’t figure out what, and there was nothing I could do, I was absolutely helpless. Even my own magic could work.

Suddenly, the room started to get darker, but then I noticed that the light wasn’t dimming, there was something coming out of the ceiling, blocking the light much like something would the sun.

Whatever was coming out of the ceiling, it was just one big red mass, but it quickly broke apart, and fell down slowly.

It fell all over the room, and I saw they were red petals, rose petals.

The minute I touched one, they all turned blue and became razor sharp, much like a dragon scale, and flew around haphazardly, and I knew that I had to get away from them, but I couldn’t. If I moved one bit, they’d cut me. I’d forgotten the one in my hand, and my fist closed over it, slicing my hand, drawing blood, that dripped onto the floor.

I watched as off the blue scales stopped where they were, but then started flying towards me. One large row they made, and I somehow managed to roll underneath them, and watched as the lodged into the wall.

But… they weren’t scales anymore. They turned red again, and into a thick liquid. Blood.

My blood.

I looked down to see my body riddled with cuts, though nothing to deep, except for one. It went straight to my heart. When I realized this, I began to stumble.

I turned around, trying to get to the table. I was mere feet away from it, and tripped, and fell, reaching out to try and hold on to the table, but I only managed to tip it over with me.

I landed on the floor, along with something that made a loud ’thunk.’ I managed to roll to my side, and everything began to get blurry. The last thing I saw before I blacked out was a dented gold crown.

This is starting to get more serious than I thought I was. I’m a sucker for plot, I guess.

Reviews please?

Don’t forget the poll if you plan to vote.

I wonder how many people even read the author’s note?
