A/N: it's rough. I haven't decided if I will continue it or leave it as is. We'll see if it's liked and then i will think of continuing it.

The stories of the shape shifters are known in every land... Some call them good… Some evil… Some say they are the death of vampires… Some say they are the vampire’s guard dogs… but all of them say that they only shift under the glow of a full moon.

No one told me they don’t have to be a wolf.

That night the woods were so beautiful… painted in the silver glow of the full moon… No one told me those silly stories were true… And no one warned me about how beautiful they could be…

He was perfect… The man I had dreams of marrying… He was tall and just lightly toned, enough to see his muscles, but not to make you think he was a crazed body builder.

How could I tell…? He wore no shirt.

His skin glowed in the iridescent light of the moon and muscles rippled under his skin as he stood from his crouch. He turned slowly to face me… and I was lost…

The air hissed between his lips as his gaze pierced through me… Held me to the spot I stood… Then he moved towards me.

I couldn’t breathe as I watched him move gracefully through the underbrush. I couldn’t move as he stopped before me and stared down at me. I was frozen in his glowing gaze.

His fingers brushed against my cheek as he tucked my hair behind my ear, the he ran his fingers down my cheek and across my neck as he gazed followed his fingers. “Ab imo pectore…” He murmured as his face lowered to mine. “I love you…”

My breath caught as he whispered the words against my lips. “From the bottom of my heart…” I murmured back as I felt my eyes close. “I love you…” I felt him smiled just before he pressed his lips against mine… Then the world exploded. I reeled back from him as blood began to run down my neck from where his nails had dug in, my eyes wide with shock.

His face contorted in pain as he clutched his sides. “Run…” He breathed.

“What…?” I gasped out as I held my hand to my neck.

“RUN!” He roared as he suddenly doubled over and howled; I ran.

The woods breezed past me with ease, I knew them well. I felt safe as I ran back to my home… until I heard something behind me.

I was being followed.

I turned to look at my left and nearly collided with a tree; a sleek black cat was chasing me.

“Panther…” I whispered as I sped up my pace; I knew I would never make it.

The panther pounced, changing in mid air to the creature of my stories… A wolf…

It landed on me, pinning me to the ground, pushing the air from my chest with its weight; I marveled at its beauty.

“I’m not afraid…” I murmur to the beast as I gaze into its glowing eyes. “I know who you are now…”

Emotions crossed his eyes faster than I could watch, but hunger finally won. With sad remorse he lifted his head and howled before sinking his fangs into my flesh.

Blood poured freely from the broken flesh, but I didn’t scream. I closed my eyes and buried myself into the darkness that would eventually end my life.

“Oh god…” A man’s voice echoed in my mind. “What have I done…?”
