How do you forget when there’s little to distract you?

Even with the miles of separation any little thing brings it back just as fresh as it was yesterday.

Hearing the song that appears on the shuffle, and letting it play, because you find the 3 minutes of happy memory worth the days of pain that ensue after.

Realizing you’re the one that finally let it drop, but you have such a hard time putting it down.

Wondering why you’re even writing this now, making it harder to let go and wondering if you just want it to continue.

Contemplating the theories of masochists, possibly relating to them.

You don’t forget when you can’t seem to let it go.
