This was written a while ago, but I just edited it tonight. It seems a little disorganized to me, and the formatting is a little odd, but hopefully it still has some merit. Please review. (Constructive criticism is, as always, very welcome!)

dreams, wishes, prophecies

the beauty of the bare sky,

the stars reflected in your eyes

my hands itching to clutch the clouds,

to soar through open air

unhindered.

.

the aching of the sea’s pulse,

steady, relentless, enthralling—

eternally, softly, calling

.

my blood rushes

breath quickens—

soul swollen

with

dreams of sweet freedom

wide endless waves

red sunsets &

glimmering glowing pathways—

furtive kisses shared in darkness,

the flare, the fire!

of danger and impulse and

instinct

my feet

in the sand,

my legs

braced to run,

my hands reaching, grasping

for the sky—

we’ll jump like we know we can fly—

bend like we can’t be broken—

and high above, a star falls,

waiting for a wish to be spoken.
