Thank you for taking the time to read this, its still in the works and one i have been working on for the past few months now on top of going to college so I hope you guys enjoy this

Leaning against the cool glass he hardly felt the bite of the wind against his face as the October wind grew colder, fall was coming to an end here in the north and soon winter would be upon them again…how many years had it been since he seen the sun rise? How long had he been walking the road of immortality? Frowning slightly his face never changed from the usual stoicness as his phone vibrated in his pocket, slipping it out and flipping it open the voice on the other end didn’t even wait for him to say a greeting. “Daemon, we are meeting.” Raising an eyebrow as he recognized the voice.

“Where?” He stated, moving towards his computer and pulling up the Internet to book a flight, he could only hope that the flights weren’t in the morning.

“London, and Daemon…” sighing and booking a redeye flight he fought the urge to roll his eyes like so many mortals did now a days.

“What Hallyon.”

“Be careful, they know we’re meeting…watch your step while you’re here.” Scoffing and hanging up the phone Daemon rose to his feet and strolled to his bedroom to pack, he hadn’t feed on human blood for over three hundred years and damn sure wasn’t going to start now, a mere glimmer of pain flashed behind his eyes before it completely disappeared behind the mask and he set about his business.

Staring at his cell phone with his mouth open Hallyon, Prince of the Elves, couldn’t believe he had just been hung up on! “You’re getting to used to having your way, I rather enjoy Daemon treating you like an actual Elf rather than royalty.” Glaring over his shoulder at his best friend he felt a little foolish he had been caught acting like a spoilt brat.

“You’re one to talk Tranilel, you’ve been getting away with many things since Rayne left for Yemen four months ago.” The second the words were out of his mouth he regretted them as his loyal bodyguards face fell “I apologize my friend I meant no ill will.” Shaking his head Tranilel fought back a sigh before grimacing at the stone surrounding them, potted plants and other things from the outside world were crammed into this cave complex but it still didn’t compare to the majestic forests of long ago. He had met Rayne two hundred years ago when Hallyon was suppose to go through an arranged marriage, risking a quick glance at his friend he still wondered what would’ve happened if he had not disobeyed the order to go to Scotland to find his father’s grave…would he had married Rayne then? Or would she still have run away? Shaking his head and sighing he picked up the plane tickets and grinned, they were flying into London tomorrow to set up for the big meeting…he was excited to see Daemon, after the last meeting six centuries ago him and Daemon had become almost friends…plus their torture of the Elven royal heir was always something to look forward too.

Her hazel eyes flared to gold as she stared at the floor, her body was as vertical as a board and the blood in her body was beginning to rush to her head turning her face a pale red. Breathing evenly and closing her eyes she smiled ruefully as she heard soft footfalls descend the stairs, she knew that strut anywhere, it had only been five minutes and already Nathaniel was checking up on her…he claimed it was so she wouldn’t kill herself but she knew the real reason why. Hard to believe just a few days ago I actually thought I was a normal human…she mused snapping open her eyes and tilting her head up to stare at the red head that came to rest before her. “Can I help you?” She asked dryly, raising an eyebrow Nathaniel frowned.

“What are you doing down here, your room is better suited for yoga not the dungeon.” Rolling her eyes and bringing her legs down she easily molded into a backbend before straightening and flexing her sore arm muscles, she had always been double jointed ever since she could remember a product of a couple of years of yoga she had thought til Alexander told her the truth three days ago.

“Well for one it’s a hell of a lot quieter down here, and with the exception of you there are way fewer interruptions.” She stated breezing past him, “stop thinking I’m going to change into a Vampire overnight you forget they killed my soul mate.” She didn’t even wait for his reaction to her statement, just headed up the stairs, opening the thick wooden door the sudden warmth of the castle Alexander had refurbished hit her like a sledgehammer, used to it didn’t bother now she enjoyed the coolness better than heat…now that my mind knows what I am…will my body change accordingly? She wondered as her body subconsciously moved through the different ground level rooms to the only staircase in the manor.

“Kara!” fighting back a curse as she glanced over her shoulder she raised an eyebrow as her face held no emotion. “I need your help!” Biting her tongue as a tall…well maybe tall wasn’t the right thing to say everyone was tall compared to her short ass, blonde haired girl ran towards her.

“Nyure’ I don’t have time.” She stated coldly, turning around and taking two steps before slender hands gripped her right arm.

“But Kara you’re the only one who knows Chinese!” Sneering she silently cursed Alexander, this was his bright idea, since Nyure’ was only eighteen and they had pulled her out of school it was everyone’s job to teach her foreign languages and combat. I’d like to see him try to teach this brainless twit she thought darkly slowly turning and giving her the once over.

“Start with something easier go bug Nathaniel for Spanish and French lessons, you already know the basics from there we’ll see what to do with you.” Her tone dared her to argue as her flat eyes reverted back to their natural hazel color, raising an eyebrow as Nyure’ opened her mouth she fought back a smirk, this kid is really going to try and argue with me…I’ve been itching for a good fight lately but it wasn’t meant to be, Nyure’s shoulders slumped and she retreated her muttering reaching Kara’s sensitive ears.

“-Stupid, I should be treated better after all I am the only one who can kill a God that’s what Alexander said but nooo I have to get treated like a kid when she’s only two years older than me!” shaking her head and turning away she inclined it once at the other woman coming down the stairs and paused.

“I wouldn’t just yet.” The woman’s green eyes flashed in confusion as she stopped next to Kara, “Nyure’ may hound you for a language she doesn’t know yet that only you can teach.” Groaning and raking a hand through her green hair the woman cursed, from the dark circles beneath her eyes she just woke up.

“It’s too early for this bullshit.” The woman muttered, turning right around and heading back upstairs, grinning Kara followed and passed the woman’s bedroom as the door shut, opening the door right across from it she slipped into her bedroom and sighed happily before shutting and locking the door behind her. Briar was right; it was too early to be putting up with Nyure’ and Nathaniel’s bullshit. Flopping down on her California king size bed she breathed in the sweet scent of clean linens and her own cherry blossom and vanilla mixture. Closing her eyes and breathing deeply the song of the birds drifted through her closed windows as the sun was blocked by storm clouds, she had drifted off to sleep with the soft pattering of rain.
