Alrighty I finally got the next chapter uploaded hope you guys like it

“Please have a seat.” Watching warily as Alexander sat down behind the mahogany desk, Hallyon slowly sank into the seat. “I bet you are wondering why you are here.”

“I assume it’s to kill me.” He stated, why did I have to flirt with the one woman who turned out to be a Hunter! Chuckling Alexander shook his head and folded his hands together.

“Now why would I do that…you don’t look like a Vampire or Shifter, and that’s all we hunt.” But that didn’t stop you from trying to kill me four hundred years ago did it? He silently countered, hearing the door slide open again he turned in time to see Kara walk in and stop next to his chair.

“I apologize for interrupting-” holding up a hand Alexander motioned to the seat next to Hallyon,

“You are not my dear, I was hoping you would join us. I am sure it would make Mr. Hallyon more comfortable.” Hallyon saw her frown and in spite of himself he did feel better as she took the seat next to him. “now I want to know why you were meeting tonight.” Glancing over at Kara he saw interest on her face as she turned towards him but he noticed it was replaced by a mask of mild bordom…she could give Daemon a run for his money with hiding her emotions he thought in spite of himself before gearing up for the answer. Sighing and bowing his head he linked his fingers together and tried to remain calm.

“You’re killing us obviously.” He stated coldly, “we are near extinction, when you were first created you killed us, four hundred years ago a group of you humans tried to destroy us-” lifting his head up he locked his pale yellow eyes with Alexander’s brown almost black eyes, “and by us I mean my people the Elves, now that the other races are dying out we are looking for a way to bring us all back up.” He noticed Alexander stiffen visibly but to his surprise Kara never budged, “I do not understand why we cannot live peacefully…the circle I created do not hunt humans, in fact the only way we turn you mortals anymore is if they are on the brink of death.”

“Death is natural part of humanity, as you Elves are naturalist you should know all living things die; and all humans should.” Alexander stated softly, his eyes watching Kara for any sign of input at all, but she just sat there like stone.

“Yet there was at one time a need for wereanimals, it was considered a blessing to be able to shift; because a few of them could not control it all of us should die?” Hallyon countered rising to his feet, he noticed Kara automatically reached behind her before tensing and moving both her hands to her lap and clenching them together. Alexander frowned and narrowed his eyes at her before smirking and leaning back in his seat, “I’m sure I can harbor a hatred for your kind as it was you who killed my father and my brother, yet I do not…I am willing to fall in love with a human and raise children with her.” Out of the corner of his eye he saw Kara’s eyes widen before she closed them and he could tell she was beginning to curse the way she walked up to him now.

“And yet the fact still remains Hallyon if you allow them to reproduce in anyway me and every Hunter in the world will begin a mass extermination…and it will not be just Vampires and Shifters.” Visibly tensing Kara bit her lip and clenched the chair her knuckles turning white; now Hallyon knew why she was trying her damnest not to go back on her word of no blood being spilt…more so his blood. Easing back into his chair he watched her relax and drop her hand closest to him as the other went to her forehead. Keeping his eyes locked on Alexander he reached down and grabbed her hand in his before pressing it to his lips.

“Then you will have to kill us.” He watched as Alexander’s face turned a pale purple and Kara’s mouth drop open in shock, rising to his feet again he pulled Kara with him. “I only met her tonight and plan on doing what I set out to do…I choose Kara to be with me.” Turning towards her yet keeping Alexander in his peripheral vision he took a deep breath, the ride to the manor and her simple promise of keeping him alive even if it was just for tonight hit him hard; how many Elven women would ever do that? He knew the answer immidately, none. “I want to be with you, though you are mortal…I would rather spend one lifetime with you than immortality alone.” He saw pain flash harshly in her hazel eyes before they flared to a honey gold.

“Then you must face immortality alone, I am a hunter…a Vampire hunter.” Her statement felt like a stab in his heart, he was just a spoiled brat and he knew it…to think a Hunter would give up everything she believed in just for him…

“I see Kara does not feel the same Hallyon. Yet she will not draw her weapon on you.” Turning his attention back to Alexander he didn’t want to believe what she said but knew better than that, denial was just easier to swallow…“Kara, return him to his hideout and report back here…we must gear up…it seems a war is upon us.” Inclining her head once she pulled out of his hold and marched out of the room, following he glared over his shoulder once more at Alexander before leaving.

Watching as Tranilel paced back and forth Daemon still felt his rage burning but kept a tight rein on it, if he allowed it to consume him he would be out there right now killing every mortal that crossed his path. Frowning when Tranilel looked at his watch then back towards the door he knew something was wrong…hell he knew something was wrong when he told him he hadn’t seen Hallyon outside. “Maybe he took a walk…oh please let it be just that.” Tranilel muttered, as his pacing became quicker, “or decided to get something to eat…yeah that’s what’s taking so long…” rising from his seat Daemon froze in place as he remembered what Vincent said when he picked him up from the airport. I was the one, who picked London,

“Damn it!” Daemon cursed his eyes showing murderous rage, when the door opened and Hallyon stepped in a troubled look on his face. “Where were you?” holding up his hands Hallyon took a deep breath before releasing a tired sigh.

“I met the enemy.” Daemon and Tranilel exchanged glances before the room echoed with both their shouts.

“What!” Flinching Hallyon covered his ears and fought back a laugh, “How could you let this happen, you’re suppose to be our king!”

“Are you fucking mental, they could have killed you like they did Vincent!”

“Enough!” Hallyon bellowed, blinking as they both instantly shut up, “I’ll explain it if you both shut up long enough to listen!”

Staring at her steering wheel Kara shook her head and closed her eyes, how long had it been since she had heard words like that? Someone say they would willingly die just to have her in their life? Biting her lip and blinking back tears as her throat tightened and a voice she had forced herself to forget floated through her mind. “Rai…I swore to avenge your death…but is the rest of their deaths worth it?” she sat there lost in her thoughts when the resonating sound of someone slamming into her door jarred her from her thoughts she was automatically reaching for her Beretta before she even registered who was outside her drivers window. Snarling and rolling the window down and glaring at the blonde in front of her she pressed the barrel against Nyure’s forehead. “I swear child if my brain didn’t click fast enough you would be dead!” shoving her backwards with the pistol and getting out of her car she unloaded a shot near Nyure’s head and stormed into the manor, swearing under her breath about stupid eighteen year olds when Alexander’s voice rang clearly from his study.

“Kara!” Pausing mid-step and spinning on her heel she ground her teeth together, now after losing at least ten years off her life she was going to get her ass chewed for not drawing her weapon on the Elf. Stopping in the doorway she frowned as Nathaniel and Briar were already in the room, “shut the door my dear.” Swallowing and sliding the door shut she slowly walked towards his desk and froze as he pulled out a manila envelope. “I had been meaning to bring this up, but with the Shinigami needing to be roomed along with the new developments in the supernatural circle well alas I got sidetracked but tonight I finally name my heir.” Blinking Briar and Kara traded confused glances, they had both assumed Nathaniel was Alexander’s heir…he was his own flesh and blood, from the look on Nathaniel’s face he assumed he was the rightful heir as well… “Kara please step forward.” Walking up to the desk she felt her stomach plummet as he handed her a pen and slid the documents across the table. “I have decided to name you my heir.” Swallowing her hand mechanically signed her name even as Nathaniel’s shouting rang in her ears.

“You can’t be serious!” taking a step back she stared at her name on the papers, “She a walking time bomb!” closing her eyes she felt Briar’s hand on her shoulder and wanted to break down and cry, she didn’t want to go to war and now she was the heir and adopted daughter of the man willing to start it. “You crazy old man what will you do when she finally turns!”

“That is enough Nathaniel, I had hoped the military would fill you with a purpose like Kara.” Alexander snapped his eyes flashing dangerously, “You may be of my blood but all you have done is make excuses or blame someone else when things go wrong…Kara admits responsibility and I plan to teach her everything before I pass on.” She watched as Nathaniel snarled and reached behind him, without thinking she felt her blood pumping throughout her body faster than it should have as in one motion she disarmed him and punched him in the chest sending him flying out the window. Trembling her mouth watered as the sweet coppery scent of human blood flooded her senses she dropped to her knees and pressed a hand to her lips.

“Kara?” glancing over her shoulder she watched as Briar recoiled visibly and knew something was wrong, her eyes widened as Alexander stood only to slam back into his chair and hit the floor as gunshots echoed all around her.
