Breathlessly Ensnared

-

I am a sinking stone

Breathlessly ensnared

Trapped beneath a layer of ice

Desperately trying to break the mould

That has imprisoned my soul

-

I’m endlessly adrift

Lost in the midst of it

I can’t remember what it feels like

To be close to anyone

That shores long since faded

I’ve just decorated it

So I don’t feel so alone anymore

The door is closed to everyone

-

I am a sinking stone

Breathlessly ensnared

Trapped beneath a layer of ice

Desperately trying to break the mould

That has imprisoned my soul

-

I am incarcerated

For my mistakes

I'm doing time in my own mind

My simple point of view

Until my heart is anew

-

I’m trapped within my own skin

Reminded by my mistakes

Over and over again

The mirror highlights my flaws

I’m my own worst enemy

And the cause of all this envy

Stuck between the do’s and don’ts

It’s all my fault I’ll be my very own vault

-

Until I love again

I'll be here

Waiting for you

I'll be good as new

When I love again
