A Red Flame on the Horizon
Part 1The Sea
The sea is a mysterious thing.
It prides the ships that sigh and sway
On its lovely rolling waves.
It is angry when a storm comes up
Dares to challenge its authority.
The storm rages across not daring to usurp
To that lofty sea.
It rocks and swings a ship around
Once prided to be found
On its sleepy falling waves
Now crushing upon its sides.
All of the sudden there is quiet
The ship rocks to and fro
Hours pass by
A little cry
Is heard out upon the waves on that prideful sea
On its prized possession its jewel on the horizon.
Once tossed now cradled.
A small face among blankets of white
Pale yet new as its stares up at shining eyes smiling down upon
Her.
Tufts of hair flow behind tiny ears
Blazing red as a flame
Cream and cinnamon put together to give the sea a gift.
She grows like a flame growing stronger
Her hair flows about her as she climbs up the rigging
Of the Lady’s Wish
Her mother’s gone yet her memory remains as long as the sea
Is rolling on by.
The maiden with the head of fire and spirit like a flame
The pride of her father
And the sea.
Serena.
