April Technology

A flute and a blue dress,

the four-inch heeled Schmendrik shoes

prepared for a challenge never received

your new cell phone taking

pictures of bloodshot eyes

rain outside

I’d be in Ithaca tomorrow

A pond, a bet, an open challenge

my digital camera was with me

capturing the trees as well as

your desire to play with my anatomy

and a kiss seated on that bench

the moment captured perfectly

in my small accursed patch of woods

Bagel, backpack, iPod playing ‘My Seventh Rib’

climbing the stairs of my dorm

four e-mails awaited me on my laptop

two salutations from my mother, one mass mailing

and yours, seriously,

causing me to doubt my shoes and that kiss

my own cell phone incessantly hearing nothing but rings,

no voice
