Gah, this came out of nowhere, I was reading stories about children being temporarily abducted by aliens. And I had to wonder why, and how, they possibly could take them IF they were real. (Yes I'm a sceptic) But it has a twist towards the idea, that maybe not all of these abductions are temporary. Though we all know there has never been account of it, still, what if?

The Aliens are based on what I've read about the 'Greys'.

I have a feeling I'm going to be in the Alien Abduction story mood for a while, something just tells me that.

Note: This will be a full story, and will focuss on several different 'Test Subjects' that the Aliens have chosen. But if you want more, leave feedback please!

Chapter 1
Chosen

The small child rested within the dark bedroom quietly, eyes closed, tucked firmly under his sheets and covers. Brown hair fell over his green eyes, he wasn't asleep, even at this young age of four he had to wonder, would they come back? They came often, and they were nice, at least he thought so. Little balls of light that would dance oddly which would make him giggle and clap, but they'd be gone by the time his parents came to see what the fuss was about. One time they had come into his room, looking rather odd in his eyes, but they had only put something on his tooth. He thought it felt funny, but it didn't hurt, he thought it was cool. His parents hadn't liked it though, especially when no one could take it out. Maybe they won't come tonight... He turned his head to hold his teddy bear, only to find it gone.

The child almost seemed confused, especially when he saw it hovering. He inched his way forward, and tried grabbing it, only to have it float further. Getting out of bed, he continued jumping to get it, and trodding along, each time he failed. On the last try, he finally wrapped his arms around the stuffed bear. The only difference was that for some reason, he wasn't on the ground anymore. He leaned his head into the hold on him, his abductor had very moist, wet arms, a hand gently stroking him as if to comfort his fears. The child did not struggle, laying against the unknown creatures chest as if he were an infant held by a parent. "Where are we going?" He asked, looking up, as they floated out the window.

"You've been chosen." The Alien stared down, speaking in the boy's language the best he could "To go to a very special place... Rememeber, we told you we'd come again?" It says, silently taking out a small device used to inject the child with "Your time has come."

The prick to the back of the neck caused the boy to fall asleep against the Alien's moist skin. It ballanced the child, and made sure he would not fall. The parents would forget all about him, that was the way it had to work. During normal abductions they'd just temprorarily imobilize them, but not permanent ones. Every so often, a human, normally a child or young teen, would be chosen to be abducted, and live among their race. Any one who had any sort of connection to that human would have their memories of the child erased. That way no one would notice, it was better that way. Landing within the bowels of his ship, the Alien moved forward, now walking on its feat. "Mission accomplished." His commanding officer asked in a rough tone, speaking in another language, he nodded "Well, this one would be?"

"Owen Devlin Sage... Age: Four, Blood Type: B, Status: Very Healthy, Years Watched: Since The Age of Four Months..." The Alien began his report on the human child they would be 'raising' and using as a new test subject "Date of Birth: May 22nd, 2004, Times Abducted: None..."

"Oh good, very good." His commanding officer took Owen calmly, and rested the child's head on his shoulder "Prepare a room for him, I'll handle what he needs... Ask Frothare to prepare the scrambler."

Owen woke up not long after, immediatly he noticed it was really cold. Looking down to notice his pajama's removed and a towel wrapped around him, his eyes widened. He held the towel around himself, and trembled, the room around him was completely white, and a single table lay not far away in the middle. One of the Aliens who he reconized as one that had visited him routinetly turned it's pale colored head.

Now that Owen looked at them, they were slightly scary, it was much taller then one would see an alien as. It was at least seven feet tall, though at his young age, Owen wouldn't know. It's body was slim, and thought it's head was a pale white-ish color, it's torso and lower half were a light silver. It's body was covered of course, it's torso was covered by a white and very light green colored robe top. It's lower half was covered by baggy looking, silver colored pants that looked like tin foil. "Owen..." It said softly, bending down to him "Don't be afraid, I am Ureathu." The Alien, male took Owen into his arms, Owen stared around "That's your name, do you remember?"

Owen knew the towel had fallen off, and didn't enjoy the cold air going around his body. Ureathu, held him gently, and placed him on the table, sighing he strapped Owen down. Owen stared around the room, realizing he couldn't speak, he couldn't even make a sound. So far he was unsure of what to do, he had been taken from his home, left naked in a room, strapped to a table, and rendered mute. He looked around for any friendly faced, but anyone nearby looked the same as the current Alien that loomed over him. "What is wrong with him?" One asked, standing above his head, it rubbed his temples "It's damaged, look at it it's-."

"Muted." The other replied, turning it's eyes in the direction of his 'helper' "I've forgotten this is your first time. This is the first step, if we don't, he'll be too... Aware..." Owen wondered what he'd be aware of "He's four years of age, try not to damage him, it will prove to be fatal..."

And the the pain started, Owen kicked and flailed on the table, however one alien held him down forcefuly. Ureathu merely watched, helping the one holding him down, finally regaining his voice, Owen screamed. But a very moist hand on his mouth quickly silenced him, within a few moments, the shock stopped and they released their grip on his body. The four year old layed flat on his back, too scared to move as even his mouth was released. The Aliens jotted down a few notes, and smiled down at him. "I-I'm cold..." He shivered, looking up at the Aliens, which were moving in different directions "I want Mommy."

"Response to first testing..." Ureathu, whom anyone could guess was the chief scientist on the ship spoke to a machine "Hightened need for parental units." He said all of this in his native tounge, then hovered above the boy again "Unfortuanently I have nothing for you at this time... Now, be a good boy for me and stay still. Can you do that?"

"Then can I see Mommy and Daddy?"

"No..." Ureathu spoke rather coldly, he was getting irretated with this specimen, he sighed "I promise you, if you're a good boy I may let you play with the others..." He readied the boy for the next set of tests, Owen stared as a strange machine moved toward his lower half "This is going to hurt..."

Owen felt the straps around his torso tighten, and the ones around his legs removed. They pushed the table closer until he felt the machine hit him. He heard them speak further in the unknown language, and then all he could hear was his own screams, he whimpered, struggled. Ureathu simply watched, he appeared to be amused by the small human's reaction, waiting for the results. "Sample extracted..." One said, holding a jar, which contained what appeared to be a small speck, he smile and pulled Owen away "Would you like to see it Owen?" It asked in English.

Owen didn't get to answer, the creature did for him, it carried it over, and held it out. To Owen's surprised it looked kind of like him, brown hair, green eyes, but small, almost the size of an insect. Owen looked between the two creatures, and wondered what was next. "You see this..." Ureathu pointed at it, talking to Owen at his own understanding level "Is why you can't go back... When the time is right, this will be you Owen..." The other carried the newly formed human to the chamber, where it would be mixed with their own DNA "In four months, it will be your age, and then it will keep your Mommy and Daddy company."

"What 'bout me?" Owen wiped a few tears away, he knew the tests weren't done, as a light shone in his face, blinding him "I want my Mommy!" He cried, seeing shadows peer down at him.

"The youngest ones whine so much." One of the Alien's hissed, looking down, he kept the light on Owen "This is why we should only take the adults, they frustrate me!"

"But the young are the easiest to keep here, and take..." Ureathu spoke, unstrapping Owen, though he knew as the four year old couldn't see, he was not going anywhere "Though the aging of the hybrids from them is by far slower."

"Can we please put some of our clothes on the darn thing!" One more hissed "Before it spring a leak!"

Ureathu nodded, and stepped into the containment box, he trudged over. Forcing Owen to sit up, the child blinked as the Alien forced the clothes on him. They consisted of what appeared to be a blue, cloak-like shirt, followed by the pants which fit loosely over his exposed lower half, the color of a dull grey. On the side of the shirt, there was a large: 06. That's how many they had taken permanently over time, and soon there would be more. They had been growing quite bored of just one specimen at a time, there were sure to be more coming. "Warmer now?" Ureathu scoffed, Owen nodded, but did not move, knowing it wasn't over "Lay down again Owen, struggle this time, and I will simply be rid of you." He said coldly.

Owen did as he was told, resting his back against the cold table again, Ureathu slowly moved his hand over Owen's body. Taking what seemed to be a measuring tape out, to measure his height. "3'4... Average size of a four year old..." He noted, running a hand down Owen's body again, as if to scan him "Tell me Owen, how long until you turn five?" He asked, ready to jot it down.

"A month..." Owen replied.

"Do you know when you were born?"

"May 22..." Owen replied, the Alien jotted his birthdate down he moved without a word away from the table.

For a long time, Owen layed on the table very confused, was it over? He soon got his answer, Ureathu was moving behind a much taller being, the same size, shape and look to it. Only it was about 2 inches taller, and stood as if he were a king. "Hello Owen." It said, it's voice echoing, loud, and very barritone "Now, no need to be afraid in my pressence, after all... It will do you little good."

"Gallar, the child seems to be resisting far too much." Ureathu spoke, carrying what appeared to be two sheets with him "Perhaps we've made a mistake."

"I do not make mistakes, nor do I pass the chance to study a human at the peak of their lifespan." Gallar motioned for him to place the sheets onto him "Let him rest, I plan to see the process of the next myself."

With this, Owen felt a rubbery substance fall over him, Ureathu pushed his eyelids down as he felt another sheet put over his face. What Owen failed to realize however, was that it was an egg sack. Which would preserve him overnight, and accustom his body to a new environment. Carrying Owen, who appeared surrounded in a mixture of purple and orange goop, Ureathu exited the room. Stepping into the one next to it, he stared around the room, it was empty for now, all the other subjects had failed to survive even the first test. He found the nearest 'incubater' as they called it. The incubator he stood in front of was just big enough for Owen to fit inside, it was obviously meant for someone younger. However, as he was the youngest, they needed to put him in the smallest to make room.

He heard Owen groan, and shook his head, he should have fallen asleep, the incubation process was very painful. He opened the hatch of the egg-shaped, clear incubator, and set Owen within, closing it. He clicked a few buttons, and slowly the incubator glowed from within, causing whimpers and groans to come fromin Owen. He ignored it however, stepping outside of the room, he wondered when the next would arrive. He knew not for at least a week, someone was bound to notice two humans wiped from existance in the same night. He closed the door, and without a hint of remorse or guilt, walked back toward his lab.
