A new hatchling
With promises to the world
Sees for the first time.
An angry mother
With a new hatchling
Is ready to teach.
The expectations are high.
The fall is steep.
The ground is fatal.
A hatchling not yet ready to fly
Is forced into the sky
With a malignant shove
Down, falls the hatchling
Struggling, trying, flapping.
The ground comes ever close.
