Stir my dreams with your eyes
while you watch me sleep when
the windows are open wide
then, slowly sing your song –
the one with all the words that
I couldn't understand,
because life is all so hard to bear
without you by my side.
without you to follow me down,
downward to the floor, and then
to the sky where the stars and
I will collide –
I write this with a song in my mind.
The moon is so bright overhead.
The world spins so fast tonight;
it's almost morning again. This is
my song to you my dear. I write
this so you will understand.
Are you there? I am so cold here;
alone here. Expensive throws and
Indian pottery are mine to keep
But you are lost to me; only to be
found in poetry.
This is not the end.
