Background Information:

The story is set in Fariel, a medium sized country surrounded in the north and west by the Haelean Empire, with Bashraan, their sworn enemies to the east and the Crystal Sea to the south. Their currency is the faris. A gold faris is worth ten silver, a silver worth 100 copper. A copper faris is around enough to buy a loaf of bread. They measure distance in farels. A farel is equal to a kilometer. A fare is about equal to a metre. The native language and the people are both Farelian. The country is ruled by a monarchy from Kingsmart, the capital which lies on the south coast.

The closest Imperial city is Sontispont, originally the capital of Besijel, a neighboring country conquered by the Haelean forces.
