NJHS Stands for Never Just Help by Standing AroundThe National Junior Honor Society is important to the community because it shapes our environment into something special and safe.
Community service can be defined as helping and serving the community to make it a better environment. It is done on a volunteer basis, meaning working without pay. People who choose to serve volunteer their time for the betterment of their community and from the goodness of their hearts.
Contributing to our community is important because it unifies NJHS students, creates a safe environment, brings leadership into the community and makes it feel more like a family. NJHS students build character and value and are bought together by helping each other take care of their community. Serving the community can make students more familiar with what is has to offer. All of that hard work and effort will be valued.
There are many ways to help out in our community, such as: cleaning up a park or lot, help out in a nursing home or a soup kitchen or help out in a day care. Cleaning up a park or lot is a good job for the NJHS team. We can do our part of the community by ridding our cites of trash and other harmful wastes (i.e. oil in small ponds, glass on park grounds).
Community service is important because it is a working, learning and growing environment. There are many different projects NJHS students can do to help the community. NJHS is an important group to be in for it builds leadership and lasting friendships.
