EHH! EHH! EHH!

The alarm clock went off a lot louder today it seemed, yet Zach got up the same way as always, he simply punched the hologram of a clock that was flashing red next to him. The alarm stopped.

As Zach opened his eyes he noticed he was not alone in his room. Their was a beautiful woman his age standing at the foot of his bed. She only said one thing, "Help me."

EHH! EHH! EHH!

As Zach opened his eyes and turned to the floating hologram, he saw that it was still 5:00. He quickly glanced around the room but saw nothing, their was no one there. Could it have really been a dream?

As Zach got ready for school he noticed something strange at the foot of his bed.

Bzz Bzz Bzz

The alarm started buzzing, telling him to get to school. While getting ready he noticed a strange amulet at the foot of his bed. It was an amulet, but not like any he had ever seen. It had a smooth almost organic design and feel but was clearly made of some kind of red metal and was warm to the touch. Not thinking he put it around his neck and hid it under his shirt so his mom would not ask about it.

"By mom, off to school!" Zach exclaimed as he began rushed out the front door.

"OK, don't get into trouble" she stated while waiting for the archaic machine to dispense her coffee, "Oh and don't forget to go ask Alexis to come over for dinner."

"You know what today is, right?" Zach asked his mother, as he slowed down, unsure of why she would want to invite her over, today of all days.

"Yes, and she shouldn't spend it alone, its not healthy. Besides she hasn't been over in a while, always working on those little pet projects of her's."

Zach had to admit his mother had a point, she hadn't been over for a long time. Even with those projects of her's she makes sure to show up at least a few times a week.

"Ya I'll go ask her."

"No. You will tell her to come to dinner. I will not let her spend this day alone."

"Right... I'm sure I'll find some way to lure her here. Love ya, bye."

"Don't be late, you have already missed to many days at school."

Zach dashed out of the house, heading in the opposite direction of his school, he had more important things to do today.
