Man in the Mirror
He's the man in the mirror
Staring back at himself
Dark deep shadows linger, so sweetly
He can hardly recognize his own face.
a moment of startled enlightenment...
That man in the mirror,
He doesn't smile and he doesn't cry
His blank looks are a reflection
Of what he feels inside
no - not possibly? Maybe...
The man in the mirror
He doesn't know himself
Who is this man looking so empty?
Where has he hidden his happiness?
fingertips touching glass, wondering...
Man in the mirror...
He frowns in pity - not in his hands;
There's nothing he can do
To change but one little thing
no, can't be; he'd believe in anything but...
He shakes his head, he turns away
And doesn't see: the man in the mirror
stepping away, slowly, hunched, trudging
Another chance not taken; lost, lost -
but in himself.
