Numbness is my only companion as I rock Back & Forth – slowly rapid in my cage

And the stone walls with their barred doors slow my heart to a stand still – I am frozen

Emptiness is everything and the word living sounds so foreign - but good.

Just as it is the darkest before dawn, I'll be non existing before my awakening,

So let's let the sunshine in, unlock my doors – and let me find this talked about "life"

Crazily and Sane I sprint through my asylum

I'm so close I can feel it, taste the freedom on my lips

And then crash the glass shatters, cascading down to reveal me.

My cemented false identity melts away from the self discovery

And I smile that I finally know what the the uncaged songbird felt

When she finally got to sing

So take my hand and lace it through yours,

And by mine I mean yours, and by yours I mean mine,

Run away from our not so hypothetical past until it's only a faded Polaroid memory

Run away from all of the what if's, almost's, and every fake identity I've had.

Now that I have you, and by you I mean me,

I can sleep safely wrapped in my own arms tonight.

Now that I have you, and by you I mean me,

I have my unsolvable answers finally found and they are:

Life is not to be defined but be lived, and living only has one correct definition that I see,

And that definition is right here and now, the definition is me.
