Hello Darling!

Suggestion:

To those who do not wish to know how Miyuu's love for Ishikawa turned sour and wants to just get to the living together part, read chapter 5 right away. If you are confused you can just check out the first chapters especially chapter 4. But reading from chapters 1 to 5 is the best! (/o)/

Author's Note:

This is my first try in writing a story with humor/romance genre. Ho ho ho, I've been writing for quite a while now but the genre is very far from this. So please bear with me. Oh, it may seem a bit confusing because from time to time it will be narrated by the female protagonist and sometimes by a third person. Whack me for that.

Leave a comment/opinion if you want. I will be really grateful as it's my first time with this romance thing so I need to know what you think. I appreciate constructive criticisms but please try to say it nicely to prevent my heart from shattering in to billions of pieces. Thank you!

Synopsis:

It's the final year of high school for Yoshihara Miyuu - this means only one more year to make the school's prince, Ishikawa Akito to like her! What is worse, no matter how hard she worked, the opportunity to be in the same class as him slipped off when she was so close! But she's not giving up and she's got a lot of plans under her sleeves. Will the heavens finally hear her after all these years?

Prologue

The mild sweet scent of Ume blossoms drifted into the open window of our bustling house. Sakura blossoms are also in full bloom, decorating the skies with a tint of pink. The rustling of leaves and cool breeze, all of these signs of spring tell me that the first day of school was here again!

“One more year left and surely our paths will never meet again if I don't succeed this time! Oh, how many times I have failed! He he, but now thanks to all those times I'm more or less immune to failures and humiliation. Now, certainly I am far better than I was before and more prepared than ever. HO HO HO! Watch out Ishikawa Akito!”

Looking at the mirror in the living room as I orated the words of encouragement, I saw my cheeks flush. The gentle pinkish color on my faint skin must be the result of my unrequited love of two years surging inside me. My eyes were flaming with determination and honestly, I think it doesn't go well with my supposed to be innocent blushing.

But I was confident about this final year although I would be lying if I said I do not feel apprehensive about the days that were about to come. This first day which marks the start of the most important year I was ever going to spend in high school, can affect the outcome of all my efforts in the past two years in my pursuit of my beloved Ishikawa Akito!

“Sis, what are you doing talking to your self so early in the morning? It's creepy. Don't ruin my mood it's the first day of school.”

“Sheesh, why are you so serious? Are you really younger than me? Just what are you doing in that elementary schoolboy's body?!”

“I should be asking you what you are doing in that supposedly matured 3rd year High School girl's body? Heh.” Jun smirked at me with his eyes squinting. He ran past the corridor leading to the kitchen with each footstep landing with a loud thud.

“Why you?! Come back here and I'll show you what I can do!”

“Mom! Mom! It's sister's womanly time of the month again!!”

It was definitely the start of the new school year. This meant another long year with the usual daily routine of putting up with my little devil of a little 4th grade brother. I must be really lucky to live through each and every day with this little devil and still remain sane with all schoolworks. I'm not bragging but honestly these were nothing compared to the things I had gone, and most likely, will go through just to win Ishikawa-kun's affection!

Chapter One

Ah, Ichinomiya Senior High School. The lavishly painted buildings, blooming greenery, students in crisp dark blue uniforms and nagging teachers, how I will miss them all. Who would've believed I actually survived in such school? Each time I remember all the hard work I had done just to enter this school I can't help but be moved to tears. Well, everything was worth it because it was through this school that I met him.

--

This day was very important just like how a sack of concrete which will determine the strength of a building's foundation. The results of Yoshihara Miyuu's performance last year will be evaluated today in the form of her class in her 3rd year in senior high. Nervous, she approached the bulletin board crowded by students outside the school's main building. Clasping her best friend, Mika's hand, she gathered up all the courage to look up the bulletin board which suddenly seemed colossal.

To win Ishikawa's affection, what better way is there other than being his classmate? This will provide Miyuu with limitless opportunities knowing how far she is willing to go.

“Mika-chan, will my efforts finally be fruitful this time?” Almost teary-eyed but still with a face filled with seeming mockery of misery, no one can probably take her seriously.

“Do you really want me to answer that?” The brown-haired girl shook her head. She had long gave up in rooting for her as everything Miyuu did failed – miserably failed.

Her legs felt like they were melting and she can hardly breathe. Straightening up, Miyuu rushed to the front of the crowd to take a good look at the board with the list of classes and students. She had long been stucked in class B - always a step behind her one and only admiration. Her fingers were crossed, “Please, this year let me be in the same class as Ishikawa-kun!”

Her head shot up to look at the board. Her teeth were tattling in nervousness. Her eyes carefully scanned the class A list where the smart Ishikawa Akito had always been in. Sure enough he saw his name. Her brows met and her hands clenched into a fist, “Okay, time to find my name.” she mumbled, walking closer to the board.

She was halfway through the list when she suddenly started to lose hope. Thinking about her performance last year, she can't help but feel a little more confident that she finally succeeded this time.

“Yamato.., Yasuhara..., Yoshi...” She froze in place as she saw the last name on the list. It felt like her soul just left her body. Her fists slowly relaxing and her expression getting stronger. Even she cannot understand the feeling she is starting to feel.

Her eyes welled up with tears as she reached for the paper containing the class list stuck on the board. The emotion suddenly overcame her and she finally burst out. Her hand ripped the class list off the board unknowingly. The crowd behind her reacted with anger and irritation but she did not notice it at all. She looked up to the sky which was blurry with her tears and shouted on the top of her lungs.

“What have I done to deserve this?!”

“Why did you do that? What a nice impression to leave on your final year.” Mika-chan asked as she comforted Miyuu who was sitting on her desk in the class she was probably damned to stay in for her entire high school years. “Look at the bright side, we are still classmates!” Mika added trying to lighten up Miyuu who was bawling her eyes out.

Miyuu turned her head and suddenly released such ominous, depressing aura. “Did you see the board?! Did you see it?!” Miyuu asked repeatedly as she shook Mika by her uniform's collar.

Shaking back and forth, Mika pulled Miyuu's hands away. “How can I see it when you ripped it right off?! The teachers had to print another copy. You've inconvenienced a lot of people.”

“Bu..bu..but!” Miyuu with her hands raised in front of her face stuttered. “It was so close!!”

With a perplexed look, Mika sat down and pulled her seat closer to Miyuu's. “What? What do you mean?”

Miyuu looked down and sobbed. “My name...it was slashed off!! My name was there on class A's name list! Well just my family name actually but still! It was slashed off so obviously right infront of my eyes and replaced with Yosikawa! Can't they just print a new one without my name? How can they type it wrongly?! It would've hurt less and I wouldn't have to cry like this”

“I doubt that.” Mika replied straightforwardly with a straight face.

“What? Hey, are you my friend or what?” Miyuu rested her head on her table looking at Mika with her still watery eyes.

Mika had seen her cry so many times over the same trivial things but she knew those trivial things meant a lot to her. She sighed and hit Miyuu's head with her student hand book after recalling how hard she had tried.

The students started to rush in the classrooms now. The energetic laughs and taunts in the morning filled the room of Class 3-B.

“Sumire!” Mika exclaimed upon catching sight of the long haired girl. Her dark hair was in a bun and she quickly saw Mika. She waved back, “Mika-chan!” Immediately took the empty seat infront Miyuu's.

Miyuu looked up upon hearing her voice. “Wah, Sumire-chan! You've grown taller!” There was a smile on her face again.

“Have you been crying? It's Ishikawa-san again isn't it? When will you give up?” Sumire mockingly remarked. Guilt suddenly overflowed within her as she finally saw how horrible Miyuu actually looked. “He he forget that I said that.”

“There are still more or less 300 days left for you. You can't give up now can you?” She smiled.

Miyuu sat straight up quickly and replied as swift as she can, “who said I was quitting? Ho ho, that's something which will never happen.” She was back to her old optimistic self and suddenly, she was revitalized too.

“You've been after him for so long, it's about time you succeed right? I have long given up on him. How can he possibly like someone like me?” Sumire jokingly said to comfort Miyuu.

Miyuu suddenly grew somber. The things she has done over the past two years came back to her and so did the memories of her failures. “You are right...maybe we were really not for each other. It's embarrassing how I keep pushing myself...”

“Eh, no no Miyuu-chan! We are different! I think someone like you who is very determined will definitely suit him! You've done so much so...” Sumire was cut off when the girls in class suddenly burst into giggles. She looked behind her which was the door.

“Hey, who's this?...Miyuu!” Mika-chan asked, looking at the tall dark-haired guy in sleek crisp dark blue uniform walking past their room.

“I never get tired of him! I get surprised each time I see him!” The girls shrieked.

“Geez, what's so good about that guy? He's just slightly good looking and smart...and athletic..and..good in...oh forget it!” The boys gruntled from behind.

“It's Ishikawa Akito isn't it?! He's gotten taller didn't he?” Sumire commented. In that time Miyuu swiftly looked up and caught a gaze of the school's prince. All her depression went away and her tears vanished like melted snow.

Her eyes glimmered with teenage love and her lips formed into a smile. “This is nothing! I can endure anything if it's for Ishikawa-kun! Everything is worth it!”

“Hey, where did the depressed Miyuu go to? Who are you? You said you were not meant for each other.” Sumire and Mika chorused with a straight face although deep inside they knew for real that their best friend's admiration is genuine.

“Ho ho ho, I would never say such a thing! I have confidence in my self! If we were not meant to be then I will make us meant for each other!” Miyuu regained her optimism and wiped away her teary eyes. “I suddenly thought of another plan!”

The homeroom teacher entered the room and quickly made his way in front of the room. “I'm starting homeroom soon. You all have assembly after this so settle down.”

“Hmm...good luck with that!” Mika smiled and pulled her seat back to her desk. “But I'm afraid you'll have to think of more plans. Isn't that right Sumire-chan? ”

“Yes, foolproof plans if you must!” Sumire giggled.

Miyuu nodded and smiled at the two of them. “Of course, I just can't give up after all.” Smiling at herself, Miyuu thought, “When was it that I first liked you Ishikawa-kun? How long has it been? I actually know how to answer all these questions. I know it very well! This is just the start so just wait!”
