I'm alive! Haha! Yes I'm alive because it's finally school vacation! LOL. I'm addicted to Audition so I haven't updated in a while. Yes I play it all day and night. Ho ho. Anyway, I hope you'll like this. This chapter is all about Ishikawa's welcoming party in the Yoshihara Household. Lol. This entire chapter is in Miyuu's point of view because I wanted to share what she was thinking. The next chapters would be narrated by a third person again so this is kind of special since I was away. Hope you will like it :D

Chapter Six

Yoshihara Household

Living room

!POP!

“Welcome to our home! My my, I always wanted an older brother in the house! Feel at home! Don't be shy okay Ishikawa-kun?”

Dad danced in joy as he popped another party popper at Ishikawa. He kept doing it that the floor is now covered with confetti. Even I cannot remember how many times he had welcomed him already and its getting annoying but looking at Ishikawa, he seemed to be enjoying himself. He even has a banner with his name on it and there are even party platters! This welcoming party makes it look like mom just gave birth - gave birth to a 17 year old boy!

I still can't believe my eyes. I never imagined him to be sitting here in our living room. What more, sitting beside me! I did imagine him in our living room with our children though... Well that was before I found out how self-absorbed he was! It was all in the past!!!

“Thank you uncle. You really didn't have to do this but I'm thankful though. Please take care of me. Oh, Akito is fine. Just call me Akito.”

Ha, look at him bow and smile like that. So polite to them when he's actually very rude. Grrr...what a good actor! You're probably dying to question my parents if I'm really their child and whether I have to live here with you. I know you very well ha ha! You can't fool me!

“My, my, what's with that fierce look you have Miyuu? Is there a problem? Were you surprised? This is so sudden but I hope you're fine with this.”

“Oh. No, no mom. Yes, I'm just surprised. Ha ha yeah...”

Yes I'm surprised! Of course I am! Any normal human would be and I'm glad to find out that I'm still normal.

“I'm surprised myself. Yoshihara-san and I go to the same school and I've seen her quite often. She's quite boisterous so it's hard to miss her. I'm sure she's seen me often too. Isn't that right, Yoshihara-san?”

What!? What's with that fake smile of yours with your teeth gleaming?! Do you think just one flash of your angelic smile will make everything better? Oh did I just say angelic? I meant devilish! What's with that sarcastic comment too?! I've seen you often right, often enough to make me miserable! How I wish I can say these at your face but I have to control myself.

“Oh, yes. He's quite popular you know. The 'I'm too good for you' type of popular.”

Oooh...I'm scared. Look at him glare like that. Truce isn't it? It's not like I'm lying. The truth must have hit you hard. Let's see you reply to that.

“Is that so? I was like that too when I was younger! But I was like that because I was really too good for them! Ho ho! We're quite alike aren't we? I bet we'll get along perfectly well! Ho ho!”

Dad! What are you saying! I just exposed his terrible side and you're fine with it?! What were you thinking saying you were like that too before! I can't even imagine you to be the reserved kind and now you're claiming to be an aloof popular type in your younger days? You can't even stop talking for a minute!

“I guessed so. Even now, you exude unique charm. Isn't that true auntie?”

“Oh, yes. He was charming.”

“Uncle must be really good to have won auntie's heart since auntie is a beauty too.”

“Wow, you think so? You have good taste like me! Ho ho!”

“Oh, why thank you. Although I'm just the simple kind though. Ha ha, you flatter me.”

“Oh no. It's true right uncle? You're not only beautiful but also humble auntie. Uncle is very lucky.”

“What a nice child there's not much like you nowadays. Dad, you should praise the Ishikawas for raising such a fine child.”

Argh...how did my supposedly character-crushing remark this lead to this? You're such a sweet talker you immediately got along well with my parents! Grr...they should be despising you by now! Oh right, you still haven't won over my entire family!

That's right! I still have hope! Let's see you get along with my devilish brother Jun! Ha ha...you'll not survive in this house with him around! I trained all my life and unlike you I have a lot of experience living with a brat each and everyday!

Oh, but where is Jun?

“Mom. Where is Jun? Shouldn't he be home already?”

“Oh yes. I think he has swimming lessons today.”

“Have we told you that we also have one more child? He's a fourth grader. Ho ho, Jun would like you very much! He always wanted an older brother. Isn't that right, Miyuu?”

“Hee...oh yes. They will get along well. Jun is such a nice kid you know.”

“I also wanted a younger sibling. I do hope we will get along well.”

Let's see about that. I'll just bribe him and you'll be running out of this house in no time. What a perfect plan! Why am I so good at this?

“Oh, are you hungry? Should we eat first? Jun might go home late.”

“Is that okay? I'm still not hungry so I can wait for him but you can go ahead if you are hungry.”

“Mom, Jun should be coming by now. Can we wait a little longer?”

Ha ha. I can't wait to kick this guy out of the house!

“Okay then. Dad, we'll wait for Jun first okay? I hope the stew don't get cold though. I made it specially for this day too.”

“Well you can show Akito-kun your cooking skills everyday so it should be okay. Ho ho! I can see us eating wonderful dishes more frequently from now on!”

“Ha ha...I will try my best.”

“Don't waste you efforts on this guy mom.”

“Did you say something Miyuu?”

“Uh...no. Haa...must be my stomach grumbling.”

“You can't wait to start a fight can't you?”

Ishikawa whispered while keeping a smiling face. Wow, must be a talent of his.

“We're already in a fight. Have you forgotten who started it? Ha ha..you have poor memory for someone so smart.”

“Your parents are such good people. I wonder where their genes went since nothing seemed to be passed on to you.”

I snickered at him. I'm dying to throw him out right now and his replies just made my self control harder to keep. Good, dad and mom were distracted by the state the living room was at.

“I'm nice to people who deserve kindness.”

“You're quite good at this aren't you?”

“I have a lot of experience. I do this everyday.”

“Seems like it.”

“One point for me.”

“Savor it while it lasts.”

“Oh yes I will.”

I looked at him with a smug look and a snicker. I just won an argument with someone as smart at him! Well it's not like it's an intellectual argument but still, I won! Ha ha! In your face Ishikawa.

“You seem to get along well! Ho ho, I hope Akito already feels like a member of the family. Ho ho!”

Dad always laughs like that every time he opens his mouth. He's like Santa Claus. Who can take him seriously? He's always so friendly that even when he's trying to be hostile people mistakes his efforts for friendliness. It seems like he really likes Isikawa though.

“I'm home. Mmm...smells nice. Mom, I'm hungry!”

Good. Jun came! Walk faster will you?! I have work for you!!!

“Oh Jun, welcome home.”

“Jun, come quick! Look who's here! Ho ho!”

Yes, follow dad! Come quick brother! All I have to do is wink at him like usual. He'll know what's going on. Okay. Here it comes.

“Coming. Sheesh why is the living room so messy? Who's birthday is it today? No one told me.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Wow, it's like he has an automatic greeting mechanism in his body. He got up and greeted Jun without me noticing. Grr...trying to make a good impression again. Too bad Jun won't fall for that!

“Oh...”

Nice hostile reply Jun! But why aren't you moving?! You should be going about your business now and giving him a cold shoulder by ignoring him like he doesn't exist! Show him your ego!

“Mom...”

“What is it Jun?”

“Do I have a long lost older brother? Is it him? Is it?”

What are you talking about! I just winked at you! What's with this older brother joke?! Come on!!! Jun!

“...”

“Ha...ha, no Jun he's...”

“MOM! He's so cool! Is he my older brother?! Tell me!”

What the...! how can you falter over someone like him! You even want this kind of person as a brother?! How can you betray me! Look at yourself Jun! Your eyes are glittering like a character in a girl's manga! Wake up! What happened to your evil side?!

“Oh, no. I'm not you older brother. But I can be if you want.”

What are you doing agreeing like that? You really want to take everything from me don't you?

“I...I'm so happy! He'll be a better sibling than sis! Can I call you onii-chan?! Oh, this is so cool”

“I don't mind. I wanted a younger brother too.”

What's with that sneer Ishikawa? Don't think like I didn't see it! You're like an alien invading my life! What did I ever do to deserve this?

“That's good to hear ho ho! Oh right, I haven't introduced him to you yet.”

“Oh then we can eat. Sorry for the wait Akito-kun.”

“This is Ishikawa Akito. He's my good friend's son. He'll be staying with us for a while.”

“Ishikawa Akito? Ishikawa...”

Oh no. I totally forgot! Jun knows that I liked a guy named Ishikawa! How can I get too much misfortune in just one day? Please, please atleast don't embarrass me and I'll let you go even when you like him more than me as a sibling!

“O ha ha...Isn't that nice? He'll be a better sibling than me? Ha ha! Shall we start eating? I'm very hungry you see. Come Jun let's go to the kitchen first!”

“Wait, wait I'm thinking! Ishikawa, I heard it before.”

Oh no, I know that look.

“I knew it! You! Ishikawa Akito! You're the guy si...mfff”

“Ha ha...hunger makes him say stupid things. Let's eat.”

“Mmff!!! I can't breathe! I'll get you...mffff...for this!”

“Yeah, yeah, traitor!”

“They get along really well don't they? They're just a little harsh on each other sometimes. I hope you'll get used to it. Shall we eat then?”

“Oh wait mom, there's one more thing. Ho ho!”

“Jun, we'll be giving your room to Akito nii-chan okay? You can stay in your sister's room can't you? Ho ho!”

“Eh?!”

“What! Why can't Jun just sleep in the living room! I don't want him in my room.”

“What are you talking about? Sleeping in your room is the last thing I want to do! It's so girly that it's suffocating!”

“It would be nice if I can share the room with Jun. That would be better wouldn't it?”

Ack, here's his nice guy attack again! Jun can't possibly like you anymore now that you stole his room. Sharing is not even in his vocabulary! Ha ha. I'm lucky after all.

“Onii-chan!”

“Looks like he's agreed to it. That's okay right uncle? Auntie?”

Onii-chan?! What happened to my devil little brother? It's very rare for you to call me politely but now you're calling this stranger like that! Why is my family like this?

“Heh.”

I hate that smirk of his'. It makes me want to drag him out this instance!

“It's way past dinner time. We should go eat now.”

“Why yes! Mom practiced a lot for this day. Ho ho.”

“I'm not eating. Let me clean the living room. I lost my appetite.”

I'm really hungry but I'm not in the mood to eat while looking at his face! Well, true it would be a nice view but still! Not after all he has done and things he will do - things like taking over my life!

“Miyuu, don't be like that. I can clean it later. Sorry Akito, she has mood swings.”

“Yeah. She always have mood swings. Don't mind her”

“That's rude Jun. Ho ho. Miyuu, celebrate with us. Ho ho!”

“You can go ahead first, I'll try to convince her.”

“That's so nice of you Akito-kun. Sorry for troubling you.”

“It's okay auntie.”

“We'll go ahead then. She's a nice girl so I hope you don't get the wrong idea.”

“Okay. Thank you.”

“I'm so miserable right now. Why is it always like this? All I can do is plan but I can never execute them! I didn't even get to use my secret weapon for the class representative election. I worked hard for it too. Sob, I want to cry.”

“What are you mumbling to yourself?”

“Wah. Don't surprise me like that!”

“They're eating already. Don't be stubborn. I know we're still not in good terms and we both have no plans of reconciling but they have nothing to do with it.”

I can't speak. He's right. For some jerk like him, he's actually nice. He's always been reasonable. I'm just denying it. He might be the same good person that I liked before. I can't argue. He's right and his beautiful face doesn't help either.

“You...You're right.”

I surrendered. Pitiful.

“Hah.”

“Why are you laughing? What's so funny?”

“You're easy to convince. I thought you were more stubborn.”

“What?!”

“Nothing. It just looks like your family is starting to like me. I wonder how I can use that to my advantage.”

What is he saying? He was the same nice Ishikawa earlier! Does this guy have split personality disorder? Are all smart people able to switch personalities in a snap like that?

“I'm looking forward for the days we'll be spending together so please take care of me, Yoshihara-san.”

Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
