The Taste of the Color Red
Light apple green
Tastes of limes, cool and sweet
Mix it with yellow
As gold as the fields
That hint of sugary gumdrops
And you’ve got yourself a real treat
A cup of deep purple
Tastes of lilacs and wine
Add the lightest blue
Paler than the sky
Like ice in a glass of pure, distilled life
Now that is something on which to dine!
Or a beaker of orange
Refreshing as it’s juice’s sweet name
With silver as cold
As the winter stars
Shining in the delicious midnight blue
Makes a taste that’s far from tame
Deep forest green
Sits on the tongue like starfruit juice
A hint of pink
Like a fiery sunset
Fills the mouth with a tropical taste
All these set the senses on the loose
And of the color red?
I’d never touch the stuff
Artificial cherry was never my flavor
