Chapter 3
Fast forward nine years
“Dru, do you think I look better in blue or green?” asked Devi.
“I’d say you’d be better in shit brown.” said Lilia.
“Did I ask you? I was asking Dru.” said Devi.
“Hm?” Drusilla said looking up at the other two girls.
One of the girls had long blond hair and was pale as any other well bred girl, the other girl was dark skinned, olive tone and had dirty dark brown hair color. Drusilla, had grown from a small twiggy girl of ten to a nineteen year old woman. She filled out along the way, her breasts were large but not overly, her hips were perfected and held sway when she walked. Her large eyes were different colors, she had her hair covering her face most of the time. People talked of her being depressed after her mother’s passing but no one could really be sure if that was what had caused it or if there were other reasons. What ever the reason she remained a pale, fragile girl. Her blue green eyes held so much sadness and pain, it was hard for people to look her in the eyes.
Devi pulled Lilia’s hair and giggled as the other girl snarled. Drusilla watched the two girls playing. Sighing to her self she looked back to the darkened window and started to whisper to herself. Devi stopped abruptly and started to write what words she heard.
Sadness pulls at my heart. . .hold me tightly, don’t let me go. . .
Please stay, I love you so much. . .Please don’t leave. . .
Lilia wrapped her arms around Drusilla’s shoulders and rested her head against Drusilla’s. Sighing softly Drusilla closed her eyes. Devi put down the pen and paper, and hugged the other two girls.
“Why are you so sad?” asked Devi.
“Does it really matter why, I am sad?” said Drusilla.
“It matters to us. We care.” said Lilia.
“Leave me alone. . .go away.” said Drusilla quietly, shrugging off Lilia.
Devi looked at Lilia and then to Drusilla then back at Lilia. Nodding taking Lilia’s hand she took her out.
Lilia looked back as their carriage rode away. Devi patted Lilia’s head and giggled.
“You’re in love with her aren’t you?” asked Devi.
“N…no I’m not. I just…care a lot about her. She was my first best friend ever. She’s like a sister to me.” said Lilia.
“You love Dru and you know it.” said Devi.
“Oh…shut up Devi!” said Lilia.
