About TWC

The Writing Circle is a group of writers wishing to challenge themselves through a series of monthly writing competitions. Each month one of the Editors posts a challenge with a word count and five things the story must include. The writers are then given a month to write their submission.

On the first of each month the submissions are posted on FictionPress and the public is asked to vote on the stories they think are the best in the following categories:

Mechanics—The one with the best grammar, punctuation, spelling, and flow. The best from a technical point of view.

Originality—The most imaginative use of the required pieces. The best from a creative point of view.

Best—The overall best story; the best read. The best from a reader’s point of view.

I created this group in the hopes that it would inspire my fellow writers and I to continue and improve our writing.
