Stairs Leading to Nothing

Ecclesiastes 2:1-11

Matthew 23:23-24

While rolling around in pleasure’s wealth

As your senses dully churn

Lift up a toast to your good health

Your thirst quenched with a burn

You’re chasing a feeling all your life

That so quickly becomes numb

Trying so hard to feel alive

Until to death you succumb

I think

You will

Find it

Hard to

Believe…

You’re climbing up the stairs, but yet they

Lead to nothing

You’re taking such great care, I know you’re

Seeking something

You’re climbing up the stairs, and still they

Lead to nothing

You’re taking such great care, you know you’re

Seeking something

You’re walking along a narrow path

That your own hands have made

You see the fallen and you laugh

From inside your charade

You follow the rules to a “T”

And you’ve made them on your own

But when you search for your deity

You’ll find you’re quite alone

I think

You will

Find it

Hard to

Believe…

You’re climbing up the stairs, but yet they

Lead to nothing

You’re taking such great care, I know you’re

Seeking something

You’re climbing up the stairs, and still they

Lead to nothing

You’re taking such great care, you know you’re

Seeking something

I think

You will

Find it

Hard to

Believe…

I think

We still

Find grace

Hard to

Receive…
