1:46 AM

I overheard my mom
On the phone today
She said at 1:46 AM
Is when you passed away.

At first I felt all numb.
I didn’t know what to do.
And now, hours later,
I can only think of you.

You were my great-grandma.
You got me to brush my hair.
Now it’s hard to think
That you’re no longer there.

Do you remember when
I found my shadow at your home?
Or how your gentle hands
Taught me to use a comb?

Now you’re up with God,
Gary and great-grandpa too
But I just want to say
How much I miss and love you.

It’s just so hard to deal with,
One hurt after another
So, with this, I say goodbye
To the greatest great-grandmother.
