A/N: Sorry its been so long! I hope all of you enjoy this part! Please review!
“So, are you still having the hallucinations?” Dr. Franklin asked, pushing her glasses up further on her nose as she looked down at her notes.
I rolled my eyes. “How many times do I have to tell you people that I’m not crazy?”
“I didn’t say you were crazy.” Dr. Franklin told me, her eyes meeting my own. “Are you taking your medication?”
“No.” I snapped, settling back and folding my arms over my chest.
She sighed, “Ava, you wont get better if you don’t take them.”
“I wont get better if I do take them!” I replied instantly, “They’re real!”
She sighed yet again, but this time put her paper on her desk and looked at me. “Okay, fine. Lets say that these…ghosts are real. Why can you see them and no one else can?”
I shifted, uncomfortable. “I don’t know. Why can some people sing and some cant? Why can some people do math and some cant? Why can some-”
“I get your point.” Dr. Franklin cut me of, her eyes hard. “But, Ava, that’s a talent. Something you’re born with. I’ve never heard of people being born with the ability to see ghosts.”
“Okay.” I said, shrugging. “But I have a question for you.”
She raised her eyebrows, obviously waiting for me to continue. “If no one is able to see ghosts, then why do we have stories about them?”
She stared at me. “Excuse me?”
I shrugged yet again, wanting her to explain it to me. “If they aren’t real, never have been real, then why are there so many stories about ghosts? Why would so many people make up so many tales about something so…odd?” I smirked, “Or are all of them hallucinating too?”
Dr. Franklin looked at me a moment, frowning. “Ava-”
I cut her off, looking up at the clock. “Look, my time us up.” I stood, swinging my bag up onto my shoulder. “See you tomorrow, Doc.”
I was almost out the door when she called out to me. I sighed, then turned back to face her. “Tomorrow, would you be willing to bring your brother and sister with you? I’d like to talk to them.”
I stared at her, studying her dark brown hair pulled into a tight bun, the hazel eyes hidden behind her glasses. Finally, I nodded. “I cant make any promises, but we can try.” Then I walked out the door.
Cole was waiting in the waiting room, and he shot out of his chair as soon as he saw me. “Ready?” He asked, practically dragging me to his car. He sighed as soon as we got outside. “That place creeps me out.”
I smiled, knowing he wasn’t going to like what I was going to say now. “Well, she asked me something today.”
“Isn’t that her job?” Cole asked sarcastically.
“Cole.” I said, slightly warning him. “She wants me to bring you and Olivia to tomorrows session.”
He sat there, his hand holding his keys inches from the ignition as he stared at me. “Huh?”
“Tomorrow. Session. You, me, Olivia.” I said clearly.
“No.”
“Come on, Cole. If you tell her you believe me, then maybe she’ll let me off the hook. Only make me come once a week. Or even once every two weeks. Please?” I was practically begging, but I didn’t care.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “You really want me to do this?”
“Please?”
“Fine.” He sighed, scowling. “You owe me.”

“No.” Olivia replied, shaking her head.
Why does everyone keeps saying that? “Olivia? Please?”
She glanced at me. “Ava, I really don’t want to go see your shrink.”
“But-”
“No, Ava.”
“Cole told me he would go.” I said, hoping that would make her change her mind. I saw William and Edwin beside me from the corner of my eye. William was clearly enjoying himself.
“Cole did?” She asked sarcastically. “Then why do you need me?”
I stared at her, “Olivia, you’ve always believed me. Never doubted I was telling the truth. I need you there.”
She sat in silence a moment, then nodded shortly. “Fine. I’ll go.” She looked up at me, a small smile on her face. “Now get out of my room, I have homework.”
I laughed, but did as she asked. Edwin smiled at me. I smiled back.
“Can we go?” William asked.
I turned to him, “What?”
“We go out every once and awhile.” He informed me, “But we don’t really know anything about…out there. We could follow you.”
“I didn’t know you could-”
“When you’ve been dead as long as we have,” Edwin informed me wryly, “you can practically do anything.”
I studied him for a moment. “If you guys want to-”
“Oh, we do.” William said, making me shift my attention back to him. He was grinning broadly. “We really, really do.”

“Hello, I’m Dr. Franklin.” Dr. Franklin said, shaking hands first with Cole, then Olivia. Both of them looked slightly uncomfortable, glancing around her office. “Please, take a seat.”
I was already sitting in my usual spot on the couch, staring at the two ghosts who accompanied me. Edwin was against the wall, staring at Dr. Franklin with an unreadable expression on his face, while William was laughing at her glasses.
Cole sat beside me, then Olivia sat by him. Dr. Franklin took her usual seat in front of me. She took out her notepad, looking at my brother and sister. “I was wondering if you could tell me about the first time Ava started having these hallucin-”
“Seeing ghosts?” Cole cut her off, raising his eyebrows. He was looking at her challengingly, like waiting for her to contradict him. “She was seven. Our grandmother died, and, before we knew anything about it, Ava told us. Told us Grandma came to talk to her.”
“And did you believe her?” Dr. Franklin questioned.
Cole winced. “Then? No. I didn’t believe her- not until she came to stay with us.”
Dr. Franklin stopped writing, looking up at him. “Are you saying you believe that these…ghosts, are real?”
“That’s exactly what I am saying.” Cole informed her, staring straight into her eyes. “And don’t even try to say I’m crazy.”
Dr. Franklin didn’t say anything, just turned to Olivia. “And you?”
“I’ve always believed Ava.” She said simply. “She’s my twin, my other half. I know she isn’t lying. You can see it on her face. Sometimes she comes home with bruises, or cuts. Because a ghost didn’t want to believe that they were dead.”
Edwin stiffened as she said this. “You never said it was dangerous-”
I ignored him.
“There was this one time.” Olivia continued, her voice sounding faint. Her eyes were focused on something on the wall. “We were standing outside of our school, talking. Suddenly, Ava just stopped, then walked over to the flagpole. I saw her stop, talking to someone. Someone I couldn’t see. I watched, as did a lot of people at our school. She was yelling at something, someone. Then, she just fell backwards, like she had been pushed. She hit the ground, and her face started turning purple, like someone was choking her. I ran over, pulled her to her feet.”
She shook her head. “The next day, there was a huge bruise on her throat. In the shape of handprints.”
Cole was staring at me, so were Edwin and William. I didn’t look at any of them.
“You never told me about that.” Cole said, his voice hard. “I would have-”
“What? Tried to kill a ghost?” I asked him sarcastically. “You cant even see him!”
“Maybe he cant, but I can.” Edwin muttered.
Dr. Franklin stared at me, then at Olivia. “So, you also believe her. That these ghosts are real.”
Olivia met her gaze calmly. “I don’t think my sister tried to choke herself, do you?”
“What made you change your mind?” Dr. Franklin asked Cole quickly, ignoring Olivia’s question. “That your sister was telling the truth?”
Cole shrugged. “We moved into an old house here a few years back. I started doing some research, learning things. Like the fact that two brothers were killed there years ago. When Ava came to stay with us, I flat out asked her if she saw anyone. I didn’t tell her anything. She told me she saw two young men, twins. She told me their names. Told me what they looked like. I believed her.” He said it so simply I felt tears well in my eyes.
Dr. Franklin studied him. “Is it possible that Ava looked up the same information you did?”
“no.” Olivia said, breaking in. “Ava wasn’t exactly on speaking terms with dad or Cole before we came here” She said, her eyes hard. “I came here once, but Ava didn’t even want me to tell her about it. She had no idea where the house was. No way to look up something you know nothing about.”
Dr. Franklin studied her now. Then she looked at me. Then the clock. “Our time is up.” She said, her voice telling me nothing. She stood, as did we. “It was nice meeting you.” She told Olivia and Cole. “Thank you for coming in.”
She nodded to me. “I’ll see you Monday.”
Damn.
I turned to walk out the door, but Edwin stopped me, letting Cole and Olivia go first. “Look at the desk.” He said quickly.
I did, then gasped and hurried out of the room.
Because, sitting on the desk, was three books and a picture.
The book titles were; Paranormal in Science, History of the Paranormal, Ghosts Throughout History.
The picture was actually a portrait, a small portrait.
A portrait of William and Edwin.
