I Am But A Shadow

I am but a shadow
In a world of fading light.
As the temperature drops lower,
I escape into the night

I am but a shadow,
And the darkness hides me well:
When the meager dawn approaches,
It can never break the spell.

I am but a shadow
While the world is spinning fast,
And society can't find me,
For the emptiness is vast.

I am but a shadow,
And the lights are far and few.
They are quickly disappearing
So it all can start anew.
